Just wondering how many of you who are USC's and waiting for the SO to come here are fasting? I am, but luckily I work with a lot of Turkish people, so I think I will have a lot of support. When they found out I was fasting, a few people invited me to come to their house to break fast! It won't be the same as Moroccan harira and schbekia, but.... :D

timeline doesn't matter.

I fasted for several years before my husband got here last Ramadan. It can be a little lonely, but if you can hook yourself up with a mosque that hosts iftars, it can be nice.

Hope you and your SO are together soon!

Sometime in 2008 - Received 10 year GC. Almost done with USCIS for life inshaAllah! Huzzah!

02/23/09 - Apply for citizenship

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!
