Do RFEs come with stuff you have to sign? Alex wants to prepare stuff before she goes to Argentina on Wednesday, and she's guessing it's a request for more proof of meeting.

Depends entirely upon what the RFE is for. No point in second-guessing.

Hey Nessa,

The RFE was announced via e-mail. I haven't got it yet and I'm worried it's not going to get here before I leave.

I'd at least like to leave someone with instructions to take care of it for me, unless it requires signing it.

For example, if it's an RFE for more proof of meeting, will I have to sign anything?

Cmon, nobody got an RFE here? Seriously, I must be the only loser who got one. I feel like the lonely depressed person at the biggest new year's eve party of the century. :(

Oh sorry I didn't know you had not received yet. Charles got the IMBRA RFE, but I don't know if he signed, or just filled the papers with answers, I'm gonna ask him to answer you as soon as he wakes up.

There's This RFE Thread that might help.

Do you have any idea what it might be? Can it be about IMBRA, or did you start your process after this IMBRA #######? Can it be because you didn't send enough evidence?

Sorry I can't help more :(

Some, like the IMBRA RFE, will need a signature. Others may or may not. Really depends on what USCIS wants at that moment! If the want more evidence, there's nothing to sign. However, when you respond to an RFE, I have always added a cover letter indicating what I am including in the package. And I always sign anything that I write.

yes i got the infamous imbra rfe. and it had to be signed. i cannot think of any action your better half would need to take in regards to the rfe, as it's all in your ballpark right now. as for if you need to sign your rfe or not, i don't know. it might be a simple request for pictures, or it might be actual paperwork that you have to do.

and don't go feeling depressed or i'll have to make a thread in ot with mispeled wurds too give yew somtin ta occupay yu tim wit. :P

hang in there you two (F)

It depends on the nature of the RFE. Although we are through with the K1 process, when we filed for AOS we got an RFE regarding my I-864 Affidavit of Support. For that one, there was no signature needed...just needed to fix my mistake and re-send it along with the supporting evidence of my income again.

Good luck to you both. :)

Thanks everyone! I guess before I go I will prepare more evidence of meeting, in case it's that. Other than that, I guess I'll just have to ask my mom for some help. If it's the IMBRA one and I need to sign it, I'll have to go through courier service or something.

Even though they said they sent it on the 21st, I doubt they did. Steven said his IMBRA RFE was postmarked like 5 days after the e-mail claimed it would be... So I'll probably not even know what it's for before I go.
