Hi all,

Just wondering if people going to Vancouver for their interview had a problem trying to get the 2inchx2inch US passport style photos done? Will they except the typical Canadian passport photos? If not, where did you get the 2x2 ones at? I tried cosco and they don't but these at this size.

Also, my fiance is driving up to meet me for the interview but was just wondering if there is visitor parking available around or at the consulate in Vancouver? Or do you have any tips on where to park around there?

I just went to one of the photo stores in the mall in Langley BC and asked for a passport photo ... I am pretty sure the specs for the Visa are the same as the Canadian one now ... not 100% sure though ...

There is underground parking in the building that the consulate is in but it can be hit and miss if you get a spot ... The underground parking has very tight spots ... There are many other buildings within a few block radius that also have parking so I am pretty sure you would manage to eventually find one (many people park at the parkage across the street from the consulate) .... Also be prepares as parking could cost you between $10 to $15 depending where you park ...

Just a side note, make sure that you don't have any electronic devices (cell phones, cameras, Pocket PCs, flash drives etc) they will not let you bring them into the consulate even if you turn them off ...

You probably already knew that from past posts on VJ but if you end up having to walk a few blocks to the consulate and have your cell phone with you then you would have to turn around and bring it back to your car ... The day I was there a few people were quite choked that they had to bring their cell phone back to their cars ....

Thanks for the tips on Parking, I'll keep it in mind. And I just got back from Walmart - they do do the 2x2 passport pics, you just need to specify this before they cut them. I have used the normal Canadian size for everything up to now though.

there is parking right across the street in a couple of parking garages which do not charge as much as the lot under the consulate --- as for the two by two photos, there is a copy shop about a block and a half west of the consulate that has a passport photo booth, my husband used it because his british size photos would not work --- we were married in canada so we had to go through the Vancouver consulate --- neither of us is from Canada ---

I used costco passport pics for my Vancouver interview .. they had no complaints
