Also need to be resident in same field office district at least 90 days.
Other factors are: min 18 months of 3 years in the USA if married to a citizen, or 30 months of 5 years in the USA if not.
If not married to a US citizen, then 5 years of US residency is required.
Guide: http://www.uscis.gov...ticle/M-476.pdf (Page 18,19 tell you requirements)
Go to page 1: http://www.uscis.gov...attachments.pdf (This will give you a yes/no)
Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

my question was clear enough ......i'm not married to US Citizen.....i worked for department Of Defense for 3 years in Iraq ...is that good reason to apply for the citizenship or no???Are you married to a US citizen, and have they been a citizen 3 years or longer, and have you been married to that citizen more than 3 years? If you answered yes to all three then should be eligible.

As far as I know, if you have served for the US Military, then you can apply on an expedited way. Have not heard this about the Department of Defense but you might want to check this with an immigration attorney.
