Has anyones fiance started getting cold feet or worrying about missing their family and so on? She sold her home and has to move out tomorrow her interview is this Tuesday. She told me that she could come to America after her last day Sept 23, so I told her I'd book the flights, her reply was that is to much for me to think about it, right now. It seems anything I say reguarding the two of us is comming out selfish to her. HELP!!!

I think this process is as stressful as Divorce and Death etc. Hurray for Skype for keeping in touch. Think about how you would feel giving up your life to start over completely. Patience and understanding is the key. i have been fortunate that my wife is loving kind and understanding. Good Luck. I know everything is big in Texas including your heart.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

I think her attitude is perfectly understandable. As the USC of course our lives change when our loved ones finally arrive to begin our lives together but you also have to consider the beneficiary's position.

All they know, all that they're familiar with, their families, friends, job, home - gone in an instant. Talk about a life changing experience! Your fiance went from being fairly self sufficient and independent to becoming totally reliant on you for EVERYTHING.

Best advice I can offer is to relax and let her come at her own pace. Tell he you love her and you'll buy the ticket when she's ready. When she arrives expect good days and bad - especially in the beginning and above all - be supportive and spend time with her.

Her reaction is fairly normal.

Too many deadlines! Move out by tomorrow. Interview Tuesday. Wrap it up at work in 2 weeks. Let her have time after all that just to chill and get it together at her own pace. The visa is good for 6 months so she doesn't have to hop on a plane the day after she finishes work. Give her time off work to catch her breath, say her goodbyes, and organize her thoughts about moving. My fiance wanted a month after he quit his job--so that was 2 months after the visa was delivered. Even then it was a last minute scramble to be ready for the shippers to pick up his stuff. She'll be happier if she gets to leisurely plan the move after everything else has settled.
