I've stayed at Eastwood Richmond in Quezon City, it was a great price and I would recommend. The staff is very friendly, the food is good and the rooftop pool and gym are great. Suggest getting a suite if you stay, much nicer than their regular room.

I stayed in a corner suite at Holiday Inn Galleria. The views of the city were amazing with windows floor to ceiling. It was attached to the mall so you didn't have to leave to get there. The room was expensive but very nice. I found that everything costs extra and is expensive, including wifi, so be prepared. The front desk staff were unfriendly. The rooms were large, shower was great, bed was awesome and the suite looked upscale.

I've stayed at the Go Hotel. It's a bargain hotel, can't beat their low prices. I added breakfast and airport transportation and it was still cheaply priced. The restaurant attached to the lobby was pretty good. The hotel stores your luggage in a locked room for cheap, this is great if you are traveling to other places. Negatives: the room was bare bones and no windows... The sheets were not cleaned to my satisfaction, the phone did not work and the safe was broken. Also the shower is great but you must wait a long time for the water to get warm. Free wifi but it didnt work in the room, which is alright because every floor has a lounging area that picked up the wifi signal. I don't plan on staying again.

I'm staying at Picasso on my next visit, will update with a review...

IMO, Lotus Garden is a dump. Compared to Bayview, it is a Cobalt against a Camaro!

I have had my medical test and interview. During this process I only stayed in two different hotels and I'd like to share my experiences. To those looking for a budget but decent hotel, I would suggest Hotel Soriente, it's room cost 1699 per night. It's located only 200 meters away from St. Luke's. The rooms are big, beds are comfortable and the bathroom is clean. There is a convenient store right outside the hotel so you don't have to go too far if u need anything, restaurants are right around the corner too. I also stayed at Tune Hotel in Mabini, a new hotel that started/opened March this year. It isn't too far from the US Embassy. The hotel rates changes everyday. During my stay, I spent 9 days and only paid 729 pesos per day. The beds are awesome. It's the kind of bed you see on 5 star hotels. You can go to their website and the pictures you will see is what you will get too. I am pretty much impressed with Tune Hotel.

Tune sounds nice and basic and well-priced for Manila. Wifi in public places could mean the hallway--heh heh--but it's better than paying 900php for 1 hr (or something close) at most places in the neighborhood. I'd like to check it out for my fiance, in case I can't be there for her medical or interview.

I assume you mean G-hotel...I stayed there for a couple nights before departing. Ditto with the sheets & safe. Also the bed matress had a few springs poking out, the deadbolt didn't work, and the room had a musty smell even with the ac cranking. I booked it through hotwire, it classed it as a 4-star...it should be more like a 2 or 3 max. I've stayed worse but I don't recommend this one. Surrounding neighborhood seemed kind of seedy too.

I stayed at the Picasso hotel in Makati last month. I really liked it. The room was large, had everything we needed and was very clean. It had a small kitchen area which we did not end up needing. The staff were helpful and nice. The shower area was nice and large.

Cons: the taxi drivers had a hard time finding it and the security gave my fiancé a hard time about parking his scooter in their parking lot. Had trouble accessing the wifi in the room. Pro: There was a small lounge area on our floor. Wifi picked up there and they had two computers with Skype for their guests.

Most likely I will stay at Picasso again. It was one of the less expensive places in Makati area, probably more for business travelers but had everything this westerner needed.

I also stayed at Hotel Kimberly. I would consider it a budget hotel and prices were inexpensive. They upgraded me to a suite, I think because they were almost booked up. The room had everything we needed and was plenty big. All in all, a good deal. It is an older building and within walking to the mall. I liked the breakfast at the restaurant attached to the lobby. Walking to the mall was not pleasant since I hate the smog and litter on the streets of manila. Mostly for this reason I probably won't stay in this area again.

Here is a copy from my Review on TripAdvisor about The Heritage Hotel Manila

Bring a Fat Wallet”

I stayed here the last two nights while I was in the Philippines because it was close to the airport and had an airport shuttle. It is overpriced, and everything will cost you extra. They charge 600php for 24 internet access. The Evian 330ml bottled water was 180php. The dinner buffet was 1400php. You will pay for drinks what you expect to pay in LA. I thought the airport shuttle would be free, but no. 800php for the airport shuttle. I took a cab and paid 200php. You can rent a movie for 540php and watch it on your 20" tube TV. O.K. I have complained enough. Now the positives:

Shower has very strong water flow. Close to MOA. Friendly staff. Casino in hotel if you like that sort of thing. Nice lounge with live singer. All and all I would not stay here again. The internet thing just plain ticked me off.

Goldland Millenia Suites

"Good Value"

Good value for the price. Nothing special. The bed seemed low to the floor, but I adapted. The mattress was thin, but I slept good. The AC was not the cold, but much better than outside. The exercise room was a joke. The staff is super friendly. The pool was nice. You better print out a map of the location to give to cab drivers. None of them know where this place is. I would stay again if I needed to be near that location again.
