Nich was probably the most selfless VJ member I have seen in the past 7 years. Her dedication and commitment to giving the right information and keeping it up to date has always impressed me. She didn't have to do any of this -- she did it because she genuinely cared about people. Her suspension is completely bogus in the context of her overall spotless record.

That's so sad. Nich-Nick is essentially the only reason I stick around here. She does *so* much for people here (did you know she helps new immigrants do things like their tax returns on here, for instance?).

If she's out, I'm out.

Nich-Nick is the backbone of the UK forum. You couldn't get an asset as good as her for this site if you paid someone. Well done for driving away one of the most helpful, knowledgeable and selfless people on the whole site!

Hear hear, and may I add -- reading the list of names who "liked" the comment above, to me is like reading a list of the most helpful, patient, and informative posters on these forums. I recognize all of them as trusted commenters whose advice I would follow in a heartbeat -- as I would Nich-Nick. I'm having trouble understanding why she was suspended AT ALL, not seeing any actual infringement she made, and wondering how any mod could justify that decision. Makes me very sad!!!!

I guess I could go back through all my deleted notifications and find the reply, but it would be a lot to look though and it is probably irrelevant anyway.

I have always thought the Mods should concentrate on mis information which is far too prevalent, either through ignorance or belief in what they think is right. But that rarely happens.

Ah so another golden egg has been laid.

Not the first time and it won't be the last. Back in the day (before regional forums came to be) there were many UK members who helped around here - cross country help I might add. All nations. One by one they left because of moderating. Or a lack of it. Or a dismal realization that cash pandering for clicks, or liaisons with bottom feeders, is more important than integrity of information.

Sad that Nich-Nick is another causality of the ghost of what once use to be a good place for reliable information.

I can think of an Australian member who once did a lot for people around here. Cries for her release remain unanswered.

I'll be the first to admit that I've never been much help, facts-wise. Nich-Nick, on the other hand, was a gold mine of useful, helpful information and embodied the best of why most people come to VisaJourney. As a community, we exist to help people get through the process. If we lose the most knowledgeable people from this site, what is the point of coming here?

One member thread-banned with administrative action applied. Strongly held opinion is just fine; however, it can be expressed without name-calling.

(further follow up - the thread-banned member was a duplicate account for someone already serving out a suspension for a TOS violation in another thread )
