Philippine NBI Clearances issuance delay

9 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

My hubby is from Mindanao and applied for an NBI clearance on July 1st. To this date, he hasn't received it and was asked to return next week. From my understanding there was no immediate "transfer of technology" thereby, causing this delay.

Anyone else with this dilemna who applied around the July 1st time period in Mindanao?

Thanks in advance for responding

I am in the Visayas aread and I applied for an NBI clearance last Friday. They said their terminal run out of contract and still is undergoing bidding. Until when, undefined! But I was told to give them a call after 20 days to see if I was clear. and if there's no hit the releasing will then take after that 20 working days to 30 working days.

Thanks Dean_De! Initially, he was asked to come back yesterday July 26 (which he did) and was asked to return next week.

So they still haven't assigned the contract to anyone after almost a month? Well, that truly sucks! NBI clearance is all we need to complete NVC paperwork.

Waiting...waiting...again :innocent:

NBI is currently upgrading their system that's why it takes a month to get a new NBI. My brother went to NBI main office in Manila just to get his and he got it in a day. If you have a "hit" it will take longer.

If and when you go to MANILA NBI it takes shorter. but in provinces like where I am at..it almost takes a month. as posted, they didn't say its a system upgrade rather has something to do with the terminals running out of contract and needs to undergo public bidding to have the contract reinstated.

hello, I'm from Mindanao too. I hope to get latest copy of NBI clearance for my upcoming interview, but, heard of the recent delays in processing (2 months). I'm wondering if my previous NBI clearance taken this May 2011 will still be accepted ? anyone who has knowledge on USEM requirement for NBI clearance will be much appreciated, kindly share ! Thanks !

Your May 2011 NBI clearance is all good. Mine was dated April 8 of this year and I passed with flying colors. You too, will.

I applied June but was told to come back after 15-30 days. The officer told me they are going to forward it to Manila and have it done there which explains why it'll take long. I didnt bother to come back. Instead, I brought my April 2011 NBI clearance and went to my interview without any problems. I am from Mindanao, BTW.

If you really need it, you can have your husband fly to Manila and get one and have it the same day. But it'll be costly considering the air fare tickets back and forth.
