I need urgent reply, please!

I just received my birth certificate and noticed that my father's first name is misspelled. Are we going to have problems during the interview on July 11th. I am immigrant and my spouse is petitioning for me.

Please help!

Also, US Embassies/Consulates are highly likely to have seen misspelt beneficiary BC's, a recap of exchange in Montreal Consulate 1999/12/13:

Receptionist: please show us your original BC.

SB: one issue; my name is misspelt (as against all my ID's) on it

Receptionist (with bored tone): yeah, we've seen lotsa those before--show it.

So, it does not matter if my parental units' names is/are spelled incorrectly? :wacko:

no, the parental spelling is not an issue

ok..how about when it's time for you to petition the parents? will there be an issue? because my mother's first name on my birth certificate is different from her own birth certificate.

Maybe you should start a new topic for your concern coz my situation is totally different from yours. :whistle:

But to answer your question, yes it will matter coz you need proof of relationship between you and your mother and that's one of the documents (BC) you need to present.

sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread. i had the same situation as yours when i was interviewed and didn't have any problem with my mom's mispelled name.

SO sorry to sound mean :blush::( , kinda paranoid over everything right now. my interview is july 11th and i have everything but then i noticed this one mistake on my father's given name. argh, i consulted a lawyer here in the PI about the misspelled name. he said that change will b a piece of cake if we have all other documentations, including my parents' marriage certificate in NSO-SECPA, though it will take months before it will appear on the NSO system. Problem is, my mom's age is also wrong in that marriage certificate.

No, whoever typed my birth registration spelled it wrong! What are you saying?

lighten up...as previously answered, you're document is ok. and Sergi9 was (im pretty sure) making a joke. didn't you get his/her joke?

and since you have all those errors in your BC regarding your parents' info, if i were you, i'd start to get them corrected. getting info corrected on BC is easy. you just go to NSO and take all supporting documents. the earlier you get all errors corrected, the better when you start the process for your parents' petition in the future.

Hi, i wonder what happened to your application? Was there any complication? I am in NvC stage now and about to fill up ds260. My father's middle name is also mispelled. Did u try to fix it or you just let it be? Thanks!

Please start your own thread to post your questions. Posting in other threads can cause confusion to the thread. Your question can also be missed in the process. This thread is 4 years old so you have a very slim chance that the poster is still around to answer your question.

Your father's misspelled middle name will have no impact on your process.

Need help! So im filing f2a for my spouse. Just started filing out ds 260 and notices that on my wifes birth certificate the name of her mom is her married name instead of her maiden name and her dad name is missing the JR. Suffix. however on our marriage contract its correct. What should i do?

I meant marriage certificate.
