I am a bit confused as to the correct fee for the initial K-1 Visa Application. I see $455.00 and then when I go to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services website, it says $340.00. I work for a state government and know how outdated we are on are website, so I am a bit skeptical on the US site, but nevertheless hopeful it has gone down. But I have never seen anything in government go down. Any insights anybody?

So you sent in $340.00 then, is this correct. Wow, I am surprised. Things never go down, only when we die. Less is good.

Yup, I sent $340 just last month. They cashed my check! (But to be honest, I'm not sure what happens if you send the wrong amount.)

I think (not sure, I've only been looking at all this stuff for a couple months) a fee for later on in the process may have gone up, so it probably all balances out. But at the moment, hearing 340 instead of 455 is awesome!

the I129F fee has been changed from 455$ to 340$ on November 23. 2010. you can search for old news on the USCIS website and find this relatively good news. i say relatively, cause this fee has been dropped but other fees that you will need in your journey until you get to N400, has been raised! :))

There is no "initial K1 visa application". You are filing a petition and the petition filing fee is $340. Later, after the petition is approved, your fiancee will "apply for a visa". The visa application fee paid locally in cash at that time is currently $350. Usually it's paid at a bank in the local currency equal to the fee.
