Hi Everyone,

so finally our package has been sent to the Lagos Embassy and I am concerned now. I am hoping that someone can

give me some advise. I know we should be expecting Package 3 now so here are my questions:

- how will they deliver the package 3, via DHL?

- how long should we wait for the package before contacting the Embassy?

- what is the best way to return package 3, by hand?

- how soon will the package 4 come after we return package 3?

- can we go ahead and schedule the medical examination - where do I get the information for the doctor(s) approved?

- I have been reading comments about the interview process but any additional advice about the process at this

point as well as the interview will be greatly appreciated

thank you all for your support and great advice.

You can download the forms for your packets right from the Embassy site Lagos forms

You don't get much of a choice in medical facilities

DESIGNATED VISA MEDICAL EXAMINATION FACILITIES IN NIGERIA

Dr. Alexandra Anga

Consultants/The Children’s Practice

25 Raymond Njoku

Ikoyi

Lagos

Telephone: 01-893-0723

Dr. K. A. Omotosho

KAMORASS Specialist Clinics

238A Muri Okunola Street

Victoria Island

Lagos

Telephone: 01-461-2032

Are the only 2 approved places. If you live outside Lagos you must travel to Lagos.

Prepare for the worse in Lagos, Read all the horror stories and then if you get less you will be happily surprised. Pay a LOT of attention to records of communicating with each other , making sure you have a lot of phone records that show numbers.

You can also send them an email @ LagosIV@state.gov and have them email you the package. Do not forget to include the LGS case number, your name, and the name of the beneficiary. They usually respond within 2 to 3 business days. The time between my NOA2 and the interview date was about 5 months. You may wait for about 2 weeks before contacting them just to ensure they'll have an answer for you. The beneficiary would have to take the completed forms with her on the day of the interview. The package sent to you would include instructions on how to go about the medicals and other documents needed for the interview. Good luck

moving thread to:

US Embassy and Consulate Discussion

This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.

YMMV

Please do not go for your medicals yet until you receive the interview appointment from the embassy. The medical is usually completed within 5 - 7 business days. Send an e-mail to the embassy asking for interview date and you should get a response(Packet 3 & 4 is usually attached in the response e-mail from the embassy, notifying your interview date.) . In the meantime, you need to start gathering all the necessary documents and evidence of relationship in preparation for the interview. Good luck

Actually the speed of medical depends on if the person has prior vaccinations or not. If not you have to allow about 6 weeks for the boosters to be given.
