I've been keeping a spreadsheet going with NVC processing times. You can check it out here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AtbvTEwLyHz1dDhjM3lXTEl1cW1SbjRwdW9YRGlIanc&hl=en#gid=0

Timeline

As of September 15, 2014 it is taking a minimum of 60 days. There is a backlog of more than a quarter million cases in the whole immigration system at this time.

Our immigration system is very broken. It only took me 4 months and $72 to immigrate to Britain but it is taking 20 months and $thousands for my spouse to immigrate to the US from Latvia. Pretty ridiculous.

Not so much of a wait if you are a child born south of the boarder. Government will even arrange a flight to your city of residence.

Don't get me started!

It's not as of September 15! This bullshit started somewhere in July! I waited 61 freaking days for my IV invoice! Had to talk to a supervisor to make them unlock it! I've read of other people only waiting two weeks!

Saylin, I just checked out your spreadsheet, and I am even more upset! So many people got the IV fee wayyy before me..i mean people who started at the NVC in July My case was received in NVC June 4, case number assigned june 24, AOS paid and DS 261 completed July10 and IV invoiced Septem. 12, DS 260 completed Septem 13! I waited for the IV fee for 61 days! I pray to God that we get case complete before October 20 at the latest! Our AOS and IV packages were both scanned on August 19. Our government , immigration process for spouses of AMERICANS is BULLSHIT! I am sorry for venting , Im just so disgusted by this process. I am originally from Europe(came here as a child) and bringing your spouse to a European country takes 3-5months tops! I have two half sisters in Germany, they are NOT German citizens, they have permanent residency, they married from Bosnia also, and their process took 3 months. I have cousins in Italy, Holland, Denmark, their procedures took around 3-5 months as well. And I as an American CITIZEN need to wait a freaking year to be with my husband! The worst thing is that he can't even stay here while waiting for his green card! To say that I am disappointed with the American government, would be a MAJOR understatement!
