Sent out initial I-129F packet 1/3/11, how long until notification of acceptance?

Hi all,

Playing the waiting game now. Sent out the initial I-129F packet on Monday January 3rd, 2011 (about two weeks ago). In the packet I included Form G-1145, Notification of Acceptance of Application/Petition. My first impression of doing this was that I would receive an e-mail once they received the packet and started to process it. I'm now thinking the e-mail will be sent only after they've gone through the whole packet and accepted it. Can others who have done the same as me explain how long it took until you received any notification from their end? Upon checking my online banking right now, they've not cashed the check either. Just hoping to get a bit of a time frame until I hear anything from them.

Thanks & best to you all,

JP

Most people never get notified from that form some people do. I wouldn't count on being notified. Just keep watching for the check to get cashed then watch for the NOA1 in the mail. May take around 3 weeks for them to cash the check, keep in mind they have a HUGE volume of petitions flowing in every single day.

You can make an account on USCIS website with a password and ID and when you have your case number from the NOA1 you can periodically check for updates on there or sign up for text msgs for major updates. I found the text msg one was the most reliable when I went through it same for the AOS part as well. I always got texted when something happend with my case and was able to check what the update was right away.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I will definitely make an account on USCIS to keep up better with the process. My only concern now is I've seen somebody who also sent out their K1 packet on the same day as me and had this in their timeline:

01/03/2011 - K-1 Packet sent.

01/05/2011 - Arrived in TX @ 9:56am. NOA1 Receipt Date.

01/11/2011 - Electronic acceptance e-mail @ 12:22 am. Check cashed.

01/15/2011 - NOA1 arrived via snail-mail.

This individual received electronic acceptance as well as NOA1, whereas I've not received anything from their end yet? I'm a bit concerned and confused...

I've not yet received NOA1. No notification whatsoever from their end yet. The only thing I know is that it has arrived in TX via tracking on the USPS website

edit- just saw your edit

Just interesting that someone else, who also happened to mail it from Chicago, got their electronic notification and NOA1 yesterday when I've not received any type of contact from their end yet.

Gonna just do my best to be patient here

Don't worry you will hear soon it takes a few weeks and you may never get an email just wait till you get your NOA1 and receipt number then you can log into USCIS and check from there. I noticed you have country of Beneficiary Germany but your consulate is England. I take it they are originally from Germany? Don't panic yet

Your sending the package using registered mail was a mistake. The USPS is pretty prompt and reliable in deliverying the mail. But who will be there in USCIS to sign a signature to receive your package? You should never ever require a return signature when sending something to USCIS.

I mailed my K-1 package Dec. 14, 2010, using priority mail to their express mail carrier address. On Dec. 17, 2010 they received it as that's how they acknowledge it. The formal acceptance date is Dec. 20, 2010, which I guess is the date they reviewed the package to make sure the application package is complete with signature, and deposited the check. Dec. 21, 2010 I received email acknowledgement. Paper NOA1 received the next day.

That was the fast part. Now I am enduring the slow part of the whole K-1 process.

I wouldn't call it a mistake. Lots of people do it, we did too and it was signed for. :) They probably have something like an incoming post station with a live person signing for things like these, I'd gues...

My question is then how do you see who signed for it? When I track my packet on USPS.com, I only see this: Delivered, January 07, 2011, 6:38 am, DALLAS, TX. Says nothing about somebody singing it? Do you reckon maybe it was delivered but never signed for so just sitting there at the moment??

Only because you don't see any information on who signed for it doesn't mean that it wasn't. Maybe USPS doesn't provide that info through their tracking service...with Fedex, it shows delivered and below that Signed by: J. Cates.

And if you paid for registered mail service, USPS wouldn't deliver it without getting a signature in return. ;) So I doub't it's just "sitting there somewhere"...maybe wait a few more days and then try contacting VSC or CSC (sorry, I don't know which service center Chicago belongs to) if they received your petition from TX?
