Has anyone here used FOREX as their cargo service for sending Balikbayan box?

Seasons greetings!

I wonder if anyone here in Philippine forum had sent a package to the Philippines using FOREX. I was scouting around for cargo services to send some goodies to PI then and I came across FOREX that has service in Baton Rouge, LA area through the Filipino Store named Pinay Gigi.

I would love to hear some reviews about their service.

Thank you!

I've used them in the past and never had a problem but Ive never had a problem with any of the shippers. There is not a forex close to where I currently live so im using a smaller company.

Don't plan on them getting it in time for Christmas.. It will be going by boat. I do currently send money thru regent forex in houston, again no problem.

Actually I put a sign on my bedroom door saying "no more boxes" because you have to buy whatever you put in and then pay $100 or more to get it there. but Im about to break down and get

another box.

I use Forex to send Balikbayan boxes to the Philippines. We send a couple boxes on October 16th, and they arrived on their front door on November 27th. We paid $80 per box. It wasn't too bad, considering there is no weight limit.

More importantly, nothing was "removed" (stolen) from the boxes. We're quite happy with their service and will use them again.

Hope you have the same experience!

FOREX is great. Depending on where you ship from and to, we ship from Cleveland to Tacloban and it takes about 8 weeks and $120. But never any problems with the boxes.

Oh, I misspelled the word HERE in my topic title.. Sorry for the error.

Thank you guys for the feedback.

At first, I was kinda skeptic on considering them because that was the first time I heard about them. But now that I know my stuffs will be in good hands, then I might as well go with them.

There's another balikbayan carrier that has service here in Louisiana, the MANILA FORWARDERS. A friend of mine send some stuffs with them and it took 50 days to get to the recipient which is somewhere in Pampanga.

I have used Forex's services over 10 times and never had a problem. Tracking your box online is a nice feature too (forexworld.com). Sometimes it takes just as long for the box to travel from LA to Marikina, Ph (Manila)as to go from Manila to Cebu. Currently I have two boxes enroute...stats look like this:

23Oct10 Dropped box off at store.

01Nov10 Box arrives in LA.

04Dec10 Box arrives in Marikina, Ph (Unloaded warehouse)

06Dec10 Box departs warehouse (loaded container)

So, anytime within the next two weeks the box should arrive in Cebu and another week or so for it to arrive to it's destination.

Hope this helps.

I don't know about Forex but just wanted to point out that LBC has a $55 special right now for the large box by sea. We just sent ours a few weeks ago. I don't know if they even have LBC in your state but I was surprised that even though we have no LBC in our city the driver drove almost 100 miles to come pick up our box at no extra charge.

Do you know if they have a Forex affiliate in New Orleans?

Or somewhere near LaCombe or Slidell?

Would anyone be able to give me their contact info?

My kids are under 13 but are moving with me soon,
they want to send a lot of their stuff home,
instead of taking them on their flight.

Forex website does not even mention any Forex in LA.

Please help Kabayans!

NEVER, NEVER SEND BOX!!!

What a lying fraudulent scheme you all are, we use to correct packing tape as required and the box was full

until an employee slashed and stole 24 possessions that your accountable worth $400.

Samsung Galaxy Tablet etc... They stole from the bottom to the top, nothing just fell out!!! They will lie and blame you, disgusting way to treat a 1st time customer and my family!!!

Then they offer you a $50 voucher of your next box they can thieve from!!!

I've waited 7 days for a response and told them I'll write an honest review and warn the innocent people, so I wrote this truth because I want my $400 they stole in possessions from my Philippine family so I can send that money to my family and they can buy those possessions safely in the Philippines.

I feel sorry that you had your things pilferage from your shipment. No one wants to have their things stolen. I for one have had that happen with Philpost. Pissed me off. But the difference between you and I and that is I didn't bellyache to VJ. I took it like a man and found a different company to send my boxes with. You are saying they are not a reputable company but they are still in business because the MAJORITY of customers, have their boxes delivered without a problem. You need to work with the company but unfortunately you may have signed a document with no insurance, but I am not you so I can't say for sure. Read your documents and see what recourse you may have. Don't yell and scream at anyone you talk to at FOREX because you will just make matters worse. When I am in a situation talking to a customer and they are irate, I tend to do just what I need to take care of the problem. I give nothing more and sometimes less, why should I bend over backwards when I have some XXXXXXX on the phone yelling at me. Think about it. Call back and be nice, you might get just what you wanted from them.
