Thanks again for your response. I was born in Canada.

I am Canadian as well you will have to order a long form birth certificate it will show the hospital you were born in and it will list both of your parents as shown when your birth was registered...I will warn you it might take a while to get unless you are willing to dish out extra money

Little Miss hi I'm not sure why you moved this. I thought family based AOS is if your married to a USC which I am.

Thanks.

It's a common confusion we've asked to be fixed. I'm not sure if it's a time issue with the admin or if it's a name issue (ie: maybe all posts are archived in such a way that it would be monumental to change the name of the forum). It's not meant to make you feel excluded, but the processes are pretty different depending on the type of entry, even though we are all using family based adjustment.

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

More detailed time line in profile.

Thanks again for all your responses.

My mother went to vital statistics in Winnipeg and they process/produce the documents in 24 hours and send it via UPS to the USA in only 3 days so I should get it around Wednesday.

I was relieved that they can do this so quickly seeing how we were only given 14 days to send this in.

I guess this may be a good reference for anyone else that needs expedited service for a long form birth certificate from Canada.

You can get 2 documents the long form birth certificate and a certified photocopy of the original registration.

I was fortunate to have a family member do this for me in person otherwise you would need a representative with written authorization from the entitled.

Thanks again everyone.

The forums are sorted according to the type of visa or other entry pass used to enter the United States. The processes are substantially different for someone who entered with a K1 or K3 than they are for someone who entered with a tourist visa or as a visitor from Canada.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!
