Why do some people's cases get transferred to the CSC (and get no interview)?

I have my biometrics tomorrow and am crossing my fingers that we get transferred to CSC soon like quite a few people and hence, have no interview. Its just this has been going on for so long, I'm sure all of you feel the same...

Anyway, as quite a few people seem to get to skip the interview step, it got me thinking, does anyone know why this happened to them? Or do you even have an inckling why you were called?

(I know this topic's been discussed a bit but I couldn't find anything recent, so just wondering...)

Thanks for your input! :)

Mine got transfered because my husband was deployed and for AOS both people have to attend the interview. He was not here and would not be here for a long time so I included everything to the effect in the packet for my AOS when I sent it an was transfered and approved without interview.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I think some of it depends on what country you are from. It seems from browsing the forums that people from the higher fraud countries tend to have interviews scheduled more frequently. Other than that I am not sure what makes them decide interview or not. As for being transferred to CSC...that is not always the best thing. It seems that a lot of times people who have interviews are approved faster than those who are send through CSC and do not have an interview.

I was transferred to CSC and I kind of wish we'd been transferred to our local office for interview instead. You definitely shouldn't be hoping for a CSC transfer if you're thinking it will speed up getting the GC. Many cases get stuck at CSC for months and months on end. A few people who were transferred the same time as me have got their AOS approved... I'm still waiting. A CSC is probably good for people who get really nervous at interviews though.

I just sent my packet off and I hope to get an interview because from what's been said on here CSC is really backlogged right now and they're processing AOS applications really slowly - plus I'm in a state that doesn't appear to process many applications so I should get an interview quickly in that case. It does seem though that if you're from the UK you're more likely than not to be transferred to CSC.

Someone on here mentioned that Californians (like me and my wife) don't get transferred to the CSC :)

I would assume that before they do transfer a case, they check it for any 'red flags' like police records or anything else that they might want to ask more about in an interview.

Interesting!! Thanks everyone, so I guess theres a few reasons. To be honest I'm not really hurry for the green card to be honest... just another formality. It'd be good to get it sorted soon but I do get really nervous at interviews and stuff so I was hoping to just save on the stress a bit

Y&E, I was under the impression that UK citizens applications generally go through a bit smoother than others, even from K1 - like Colleens said about the low fraud countries...

Thanks everyone! I was just curious.

It usually depends on your local service center, if it's backlogged longer then CSC then most likely your case stays at CSC and gets approved without an interview. And usually K1's are less likely to get interviewed.

01/2006 - Filed k1(1st time)

04/2006 - Interview (1st time) denied

Waited, waited...... no review

06/2009 - Filed k1 (2nd time)

09/2009 - NOA 2 approved

12/2009 - Interview (2nd time) APPROVED! VISA ISSUED

02/2010 - Arrived USA

04/2010 - Married

I am in California (Los Angeles) & my case transferred to CSC and the whole process, from filing AOS to receiving my GC took 3 months!

I do believe that every thing on the whole immigration process depends on who picks up your case to work on and his/her daily mood!
