Most Muslim women don't dress in all black or even wearing a scarf on their head.

I have lived all over the Muslim and non-Muslim world. I find comfort in God, not in places.

I would respectfully suggest that you might ask about things you don't know about rather making blanket statements that demonstrate a lack of knowledge.

Where's the open-mindedness in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Algeria or even Morocco? Once again I'll point out that though Muslim dominated countries are not open to any sort of freedom of religion (or better said, freedom for their citizens to choose), they take advantage of our laws to encourage others to convert to Islam. Sure, not all Muslims are like this. I know some here where I live and they're very subtle about it. I think we just secretly hope that each other will convert to his/her respective religion!

I have yet to see a Muslim proselytize or knock on my door or approach me on the corner trying to convert. Sure they may have a table at a college as you say, but it is up to the person to approach it....unlike the others who try and push it down your throat....IE: Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons and what I dislike most of all are the Christians who stand just off the property of my kids' middle and high schools and hand out little bibles....if I want to know about any religion I will seek it out...please do not seek me or my kids....if anyone is guilty of such things it is the Christians.

Do you like the fact that Christians are biggest contributers to charities? I dont like being solicited either but it really doesnt happen that much to me.

My experience being around Muslims has not been a good one for the most part. I had a job many many moons ago where in I worked around a lot of Muslims. All expect one pretty much acted like they were better than me and wouldnt give me the time of day. Is this all Muslims, no but this has been my experience.

It is interesting that you say that. Can you explain why? My parents come from a place that has a sizable Muslim minority, and I have heard a number of people say that Muslims are sneaky and not trustworthy and have unscrupulous business practices. However, when I pressed them to explain why they believe that, they could never come up a good explanation.

I never said they were sneaky or had bad business practices. I knew very little about them because they wouldn't talk to me and most of the time wouldnt even look at me. I got the feeling that they thought they were better than me because I wasnt Muslim. I had a incident when I directly asked a question to one of them, he looked at me looked away and just kept walking. Like I said earlier is this all Mulsims, no but this is my experience.

As far as I can tell, the OP article isn't about Sharia, Muslims, other Muslim countries, or whether or not Muslims are nice to non-Muslims. It's about local police in Dearborn, MI keeping Christian missionaries who target Muslims from handing out leaflets at an Arab fair. I'm sure that if Muslims were trying to convert Christians at a Christian fair, that would be news, too.

Muslims do convert to Christianity, and Christians do convert to Islam. Christians are intolerant of non-Christian proselyizing, and the same can be said of other groups not liking outsiders trying to change them. There are Muslim azzhats and Christian azzhats. Nothing about any of this is news at all.

I grew up in neighboring Livonia (near Dearborn) and the vast majority of Muslim girls from there dress like the current Miss America.....I have only seen a handful who cover their head, and never seen the niqab. A large portion of the Arab population in the Western suburbs of Detroit are Chaldean Christians.

Of course thats not what the OP is about, I was addressing somebody that was more than happy to take Christians to the cleaner while giving Muslims a free ride. Of course thats not what the OP is about, I was addressing somebody that was more than happy to take Christians to the cleaner while giving Muslims a free ride. I told my story so that this individual would gain a better perspective. Its not black and white and like you said theres as5hats on both sides.

The title of this thread gives it away as a Muslim/Islam bashing hyperbolic thread based on false premises. A thread of this sort shows up every few days so that a few haters can display their disdain and their ignorance. That's all this exercise is about, in case no one noticed.

Also, it should be noted that the number of threads started to bash non-Muslims is substantially less and not often even started by Muslims, demonstrating who tends toward aggression and intolerance on this board.

Christians who convert generally don't have to fear for their lives or leave their countries for fear of being killed over their conversion. Many Muslims do. That's the difference.
