Finally my wife's case has been closed at the NVC!   It moved through after exactly two months of being there. I'm so happy. Now just waiting for her interview. I hope Honduras doesn't have a big backlog of people waiting for an immigrant visa. Can someone tell me how I will be notified of the interview... telephone call, email? And from whom, NVC or the consulate? Thank you much!

*** moving to IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports forum, as this is a Progress report, and not a question ***

FWIW - usually 'case closed' is a bad thing.

'case completed' is the 'better status'.

Good Luck with the rest of it !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hey, Congrats!! I do believe that you mean the NVC has completed your case... If the NVC has completed your case then they will get with your consulate and schedule your interview. Typically you find out the second week of the month... I have found that most ppl will find out about 1-2 weeks after you get a confirmation from the NVC operator. I would call them every couple of days and ask if they have scheduled it yet <after one week of case complete>... I called 8 days after my CC and the operator told me on the phone when my appointment was and then sent the Interview Email a couple of hours later... So to answer your question the NVC schedules that interviews

Yeah thanks for the correction. I said closed, but I meant to say completed. I wouldn't want it to be closed! Hopefully I hear something soon. I just have to keep telling myself that this is almost over, and to remain calm... B-)

Congratulations! Hope your interview date comes quickly; it will depend on how busy your particular consulate/embassy is. While NVC will tell you interviews are only booked the second week of the month many filers have been booked at other times. Just keep checking your email and calling NVC.

First of all, congrats!! According to the US Embassy's website, the estimated wait time for an interivew date at the US Embassy in Honduras in 1-2 months after your Case is completed at the NVC. However, once your interview date is scheduled (look for an e-mail or call the NVC operator), there may be a way to move it up to an earlier date. Like my husband keeps telling me, "It's Honduras, Baby!" I have seen others on VC physically go to the Embassy while in Teguc "on business, or whatever" just to inquire if they can complete the interview sooner since they just happen to be in town. There are no guarantees, but if you are visiting your wife and new baby anyway, it may be worth a try. Just make sure that the medical interview is completed and that you are ready, because they will likely see you guys the following day. Go to the webiste for the US Embassy in Honduras http://honduras.usembassy.gov/iv.html to see an actual list of interviews already scheduled. The list for the month of May 2010 is there now, and it includes the NVC Case number. This is just another way to verify your interview date.

Catracho,

did you get your interview date yet? They just posted the July 2010 interview schedule online at the US Embassy in Teguc. Take a look at http://honduras.usembassy.gov/iv.html. By the way, we got all of our original birth and marriage certs in forma literal, and sent them in with the DS-230's for my husband and step-son. Thanks, and good luck!

woops...I meant that they have posted the June 2010 schedule. My husband's interview will hopefully be in July, so that is on my mind. I also messed up the link above with a typo. Try this http://honduras.usembassy.gov/iv.html
