My mother-in-law petitioned for her son who is already and was over 21 when she filed for him back in Aug 2004. Just recently NVC sent the choice of agent form and the AOS bill along with IV bill. The Choice of agent was accepted by email within 2 days. After all the packages are sent, do they still have to wait for the priority date to be current? Currently for India the F2B date is 2002 for non-citizen and if so why are they requesting paperwork so early? My mother-in-law can file for citizenship in September and once she becomes a citizen can we just send in the citizenship certificate to nvc to upgrade the status?

Thanks

Visa priority date will need to be reached in order to qualify for an available visa number

YMMV
