Hi Guys,

I have a doubt. what USCIS really mean by I130 Processing time?

Whether its the total time taken for them to grant us the Visa or Its the total time for them to issue the Notice of Approval (NOA2). If latter is the case, then how long on a average it will take to get our Visa Appointment.

Your replies would be much appreciated..

Regards,

Raj

USCIS does NOT issue visas... they only approve petitions... once the approved case file leaves the USCIS they are no longer involved and cannot report on processing times.... So what the USCIS reports are times under there control and for there part of the process

For a CR/IR visa the length of time it takes to get an appointment after the approved file gets sent to NVC depends o lot on the speed of your responses to the data & fee payment requests....

Thanks for your prompt reply.. Can I start gathering documents which is essential for the porcess or should I need to wait until my NOA2 is issued. Is they follow specified formats on which the datas should be submitted to them.

some make sense to wait on others do not, so for those that do not, gather what you can

YMMV

Hullo Raj - strongly suggest you study this -

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut

Print it out, study it at yer leisure, in a comfy chair, away from a computer, kids, distractions.

Lots of info there, can be your new bible for a month or two.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

They HAVE to tell you that, it is on their script... Go with what others here have told you as it is more accurate and truthful. The USCIS website is not updated often and your waiting will be kinda like sittin in the dark, but I would say anywhere between 2 - 4 months for the NOA2 is averge, then you are off to NVC. Yes, you can start to gather your documents as most, are valid for at least 6 months...
