plus $355.00 for the I-130, and I am not sure what you will spend for printing stuff, copying stuff, sending stuff via mail, etc etc...

Plus the $355 to the USCIS to file the I-130

Plus the mailing fees

Plus the passport photo costs

Plus the medical fees (vary depending on Country)

Plus travel to the consulates and possible hotel room for the night

Plus the cost of the Police Certificates

Plus... plus... plus.... it all adds up.

I-129F: NONE

Consulate (Interview): $131

Adjustment Of Status (AOS) I-485: $1010

($1496) + other fees for mailing, translation of documents, photos, etc., which vary for every country

Also K-3 won't let the beneficiary start work immediately after entering US, as well as getting the GC due to the AOS

CR-1/IR-1

I-130: $355

NVC I-864: $70

NVC Visa fee: $400

($825) + other fees for mailing, translation of documents, photos, etc., which vary for every country

CR-1/IR-1 will allow the beneficiary to get immediately 2/10-year GC and start work after US entry. No need of AOS and extra $700 (1010+131)-(70+400)=$671

I would take the last post..... but remember that the medical can cost a lot more. My husband had a skin condition that needed treatment and needed a lot of vaccines.... so we paid a lot more than $100. Also, we had to do a lot of translations of documents for the I-130 and we printed photos.

I then had to fly down to El Salvador for a fraud interview, so that was an extra plane ticket, 3 nights in a hotel, etc.

Also, his whole family wanted to see him off at the airport, which cost around $80.... and money for a good-bye dinner.

Does your spouse have a decent suitcase?

And, don't forget costs for when your spouse arrives. It has been costly to get my husband established. $100 for a driver's license (written test, driving test, and the fee for the license). A $45 deposit to put the electricity in his name. The first cell phone bill that had him on it also cost about $50 more than my normal phone bill.

So many incidentals.

Ours is about $213 in the Philippines. Vaccines run another $500 or so.

You may also eventually have to get a second vehicle. I know we will. There's the new car payment, plus insurance. There are lots of incidentals.

Honestly, beyond the standard fees, I really lost track (even though I swore I would keep a running total). My advice, plan for things like photos, vaccines, medical exams, fingerprints, police certificates, cost to obtain original documents if needed, copying, shipping, and travel costs for your spouse to get to the places he needs to go and don't forget the final transportation, driver licenses fees, increased insurance costs, These all add up, just plan on it costing more than you'd think, but know it's worth it in the end.
