Hello everyone,

I am wondering, what's the purpose of question 11 on I-134, "I (intend) (do not intend) to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3.

I have filed I-129F, so I assumed that I will be taking care of my love for the rest of my life, for better or worse, so I am going to say I do not intend to make specific contribution. What do you think? Anything insight would be appreciated.

Take a look at the I-134 in the Example Forms section.

moving to:

US Embassy and Consulate Discussion

You are almost there and now you have to deal with the embassy. This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Did you get any responses? I am interested in the answer to this too... on the example it says N/A... but still confused.

But it's not as simple as following the answer on the example form, in regards to this particular question. Obviously answering "N/A" has worked for countless people, but this has recently become more of an issue. For example, at the embassy in London, they like you to answer this question yes, that you do intend to support your fiance financially. People have talked in their interview/embassy reviews about being given a very hard time for answering "N/A" or even being asked to re-submit the I-134.

I would read the interview reviews for your embassy very carefully, and ask people in your regional forum who have interviewed recently what they wrote. It is the one single question on ALL of the forms where I did indeed deviate from the example for my answer.

Good luck!

Oh, I agree but it's clear both posters in this thread asked the same question and neither of them bothered to read the guide or look at the example form. MY point is that doing so is going to be critical to their success. I prefer to answer "do not" and then to write, "I will support the beneficiary fully as my spouse."

Ack, now I'm worried. My fiance said that he'd read that because he was my fiance, he should enter "N/A", whilst our co sponsor should actually specifically answer the question (His mum wrote something to the effect of "In any way as necessary".)

Maybe I should have him re-send the form to me and be more specific?

The purpose? For other visas, the I-134 is not just for the K-1. The answer?

"NA K-1 visa for permanent residency"

You were worried before.

if the question is NA, it is NA for the visa type, not just for the sponsor or co-cponsor. If it is NA it is NA for everyone. For whatever reason I have heard London prefers it to be marked "Will provide" though I am not sure why and I am not sure they are strict about that.

umm...i dont have any income. im not working yet. i filed this form because it was a requirement in processing the visa. my mother and brother are willing to be my fiance's financial supporters. currently, I do live with them under the same house. what i did was state under question #9 that i do intend to support him financially. under that, i stated how and what means of support. I just put in that my mother and brother both intend to provide financial support and have him live under the same residence as we do. in addition, i stated that they have both filled up a form i-864 (needed for immigrant visa applications), to underline that their income is beyond poverty guidelines and that they are willing and able to provide support. I'm just hoping that what we did would be alright. What im asking this forum is, did i do the right thing?

The I-134 is used for many types of visas. Despite what some think, K-1s and such area tiny proportion of the visas processed by the Service Centers, the NVC and the consulates. Question 11 has no purpose for the K-1. That is why the SAMPLE FORMS here on VJ lists the correct answer as "NA. K-1 visa for permanent residency"

Not exactly, but it should not matter. The questionis NOT APPLICABLE, that means any answer is NOT APPLICABLE so you really can't go wrong.

I do understand the London cosulate wants you to answer YES to this question, other that that NA is fine.

Actually I answered YES and then put "if she gives me sex on Wednesday night" Not really
