DS-3032 slowdown?

I've been reading bits here and there on VJ about NVC and DS-3032 processing.

Near as I can tell, seems to be some SLOWDOWN in the past 4 weeks on DS-3032 processing.

If you have any feedback from the NVC rep you spoke with (recently? today? tomorrow? ) could you make a reply here?

TIA !

Sorry, I am speaking specifically about the DS-3032, not the DS-230 .

The issue I have is with CONVERTING a case from paper to electronic, at the NVC stage.

The tele-operators at NVC are stuck in one track - ie - when a case number is assigned, then the petitioner can call in and have some 'normal' stuff sent out via email - a DS-3032 and an AOS fee bill along with online payment instructions.

For Electronic Participants (this is specific to GUZ, Montreal, and One other consulate ) there is an OPT IN PROCESS, but to OPT IN, requires the NVC case number to be assigned already.

There seems to be some 'stall time' as well, with regular DS-3032 stuff, in the past 5 weeks.

My apologies if I wasn't too clear with my question..

OK - so after 3 months of tracking this, and paying attentio to Wyatt's Torch (thanks, buddy ! ) I'm suggesting this process is workable (my apologies if this is listed as 'gospel' elsewhere or in a wiki entry) :

If you've been calling NVC, once yer casefile is at NVC - and IF the tele-operator TAKES the two email addresses (one for USC and one for the foreign spouse ) then

You'll receive, via email, a 'ds-3032 kit' - which consists of:

1. email with payment portal info

2. non-fillable PDF version of DS-3032

3. some barcode info .

That first payment to make is for the AOS - the I-864 - so if you signup for the online payment portal - you can track what's going on, make payments, check payment status, etc...

The cycle then goes like this:

1. pay online.

2. wait 2 days (but keep checking online payment portal status) .

3. when status changes to PAID - get the payment receipt AND coversheet from the online payment portal.

4. PRINT the payment receipt AND coversheet.

5. send off the form, the supporting docs, and the coversheet and payment notice to NVC.

Once 5 is finished, keep checking the online payment portal and your email for the NEXT thing, then go through the cycle again.

Unless things have changed this week, the AOS (I-864) is first, then the IV (DS-230) is second.

ACCEPTANCE for the DS-3032 is not a factor for 'first payment', not at all. IMO, all is 'payment driven' and the 'acceptance of the DS-3032' is a seperate task, run in parallel to payment. Sure, it must be 'accepted' before NVC declares your casefile 'complete', but - it's not a 'process stopper' - not something to 'wait on'.

What matters, is that an NVC Tele-Operator has sent to you, a 'DS-3032 kit' email.

So, if you don't have one of those, please call NVC, and handle that bit.

If your status continues to show as 'in process' you can print off the payment receipt but you can't access or print/email the cover sheet. So everything falls into place once you get 'paid' status. Likely that is the same as before but in case it's not, it's good to note anyway.

Hi,

Hi guys,

I called NVC today and I was told that I was appointed as the agent for my mom's case. I asked if they send out a confirmation email supporting this, and I was told that they do not do that. I am a little bit confused as I have read on here that they usually send an email confirming this.. Anyway, I was told that they would be sending me the IV bill in the next few days.

Hi, No just 5 straight days.

If you start receiving stuff after the DS3032, they it doesn't matter if they've sent you an email about confirmation. So like you said, you'll be getting AOS fee soon.

Thanks! I think it took 5 days to process my email. Are you referring to the IV Bill? I paid that yesterday. Did you send your affidavit of support? How long did it take them to process that? Thanks again.

Hi, IV bill also took 2 days to show PAID. Haven't sent the Affd of Support/I864, been working on that. also actually need to find out if I can scan and email all the docs in that or should i send through regular mail. Need some input from the other members regd that.. but i think we should do it both ways.
