NVC sent package on Sept 15th according to the letter they sent to me and my understanding is it takes about 5 business days for them to receive it (Lagos Consulate). He hasnt heard anything from them and we are not sure whether to contact them or just wait for a call, email or postal mail from them. After waiting for 6.5 months at VSC, I just can't wait for all this to be over. Please advise. God Bless!

For me it took about 7 days to get package 3 after NOA2. I'd say give it some time. For some it takes longer than 4 weeks.... Maybe try calling after 14 days?

good luck

I just called them (NVC) now and they said they have no information that their systems are not linked.

DOS is the department of state 202-663-1225 Different group than NVC and DOS computers are linked to the consulate. They can see some things like if the case is in the system and maybe even an interview date.

There are instructions somewhere on the board. If it was sent the 15th it probably left the states the 16th and got to europe with the 17th or 18th. Add 1-2 days to get out of Europe and to Nigeria and you are about the 19th ( weekend ) and Monday was a Muslim holiday. I think yesterday was also. This time of year it seems every other day is a holiday , either Christian or Muslim . So they probably actually recieved it today . Give them about 4 days to get it in the computer and call back

You have to go on DHL website and track by Reference, enter EXP 12 SEP 2009A (adjust using dates just before the date NVC told you), with a shipping range of that day to a few days later Sep 14 - Sept 15 works for the example above. Look for shipments to Lagos embassy. Hope you understand?

Give it some time. My NVC letter is dated August 31, and my fiancee still hasn't gotten her packet 3. It took 6 days for the consulate to respond to my email (getting through on the phone is nearly impossible). They said they sent the packet. Doesn't matter. I just needed confirmation that they've got the petition so she can send the documents.

I don't know how the postal service is in Nigeria, but it's notoriously bad in Vietnam. She'd have a better chance of getting a message from the consulate if they stuffed it in a bottle and floated it down the Perfume River.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

It took Lagos approximately 3-4 weeks after our case left NVC before we got notification that they entered our case into their system. I thought it took forever for them to enter the case information into their system after receiving it. We were given our packet via an email link from Lagos, which is the exact same as on their website and were able to complete all forms, exams, certificates, etc. from there. We finally have our interview date of Oct. 27, but we never received any "paper" documentation from Lagos. Lagos mentioned on their email that we could bring a copy of the email stating his interview date in lieu of the actual "paper" notification as his name will be on the interview list for that day.

I hope you found this information helpful, I know exactly what you are going through! This LONG wait is just too much to bear sometimes....drop me a message if I can help you with anything else....
