My husband went thru Islamabad as well , and he was on AP for over 300 days I think ( this was several yrs ago). He thinks that it is a good sign that they kept your passport , as they did not keep his passport after his interview and then he was on AP FOREVER. They kept asking for more info , altho we had provided them with all required info in the beginning. On one of his trips to take the requested info they DID keep his passport and his K-3 visa was issued shortly after. Good luck--I know how frustrating this time is.

Called DOS again and they said that the case is pending and the last update was from the 23rd september 2009,

as I have read/heard that when a case is in AP it goes back to washington and they check the finger prints name checks and then send the case back to embassy, and then they have a SAO meeting on deny visa or issue visa. if the name checks and finger prints are done on one case and are clreaded and at interview time CO said that ur case is fine and it just needs Administrative Processings and when case comes back clear from Washington then why CO attend the SAO meeting why not just issue visa right that time when case comes back from Washington to ISL Embassy? :(

Wellmux,

AP can be complicated - so people unfortunately need to wait weeks, months, and in some cases years. The good news is that ISL is moving much faster than they had been only a few months ago.

Try to call DOS weekly and email the embassy weekly for updates. AP is usually just a waiting game.

We all know how long and stressful this process can be, you need to be mentally prepared that it could realistically be months until you have visa in hand. Each case IS different, maybe you'll be a lucky one and clear faster.

Best of luck!

my wife call DOS every day for information about AP and they just tell that case is in AP.

This process is very tense worse than any other process and and so is the waiting too.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Our record indicates that the case is still pending under administrative process and we will contact the applicant(s) upon completion of this process. Also, time duration for the process is always approximated therefore maximum cannot be predicted.

I hope this information will be helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you required any further inquiry.

Hello Guys!

I have reached USA on Oct 17 with the blessings of God & ur best wishes.

I wanna share my POE experience with u guys.

My POE was JFK.

At JFK immigration officer asked abt envelope and i gave it to him.Unfortunately envelope was not in good shape as i got it from embassy.he asked did u open it? I said no.then he sent me to counter#2.there were so many ppl who were waiting for the completion of their immigration. There was another officer took my passport and see it and send me another room.Actually my name got hit in their data base,i have a common name. They took approx. 40mins and they cleared me.The whole process took approx 2 hours.

The immigration process at JFK was not up to the mark only few officers were dealing with so many ppl.I did not find it good at JFK.

I got my connecting flight for florida and i reached here safe & sound.

I called social security yesterday and the officer told me over the phone that i will have to come and apply for it.

Wish u very best of the luck guys!

Sibtain

HI EVERYONE,

I HAD MY INTERVIEW AT ISLAMABAD AMERICAN EMBASSY 4TH SEPTEMBER 2009 AND AND CO TOLD ME THAT EVERYTHING LOOKS FINE WITH UR CASE BUT WE NEED SOME ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING AND SHE GAVE ME A BLUE PAPER SAYING THAT YOUR CASE HAS BEEN TERMPORARLY REFUSED FOR FURTHER ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSINGAND THE MINIMUM TIME IS SIX WEEKS AND THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT THEY DID NOT GAVE ME ANY LIST OF MISSING DOCUMENTS I DONT KNOW WHY THEY PUT ME ON AP WHILE EVERYTHING WAS COMPLETE AND I WAS HAVING EVERY LITTLE PAPER PICTURES OF MARRIAGE TOO, AND SHE KEPT MY PASSPORT AND ALSO GAVE ME ANOTHER PAPER THAT HAS AMEX ADDRESS OF MY CITY AND THIS PAPER HAVE A STICKER ON IT WITH A SERIAL NUMBER AND SHE TOLD ME THAT WE WILL ISSUE U VISA IN 2 WEEKS TO 6 WEEKS, BUT WHEN I HEAR THREADS HERE I GETS WORRIED THAT OTHR PEOPLE AP GETS LONGER AND LONGER AND DONT STOP. I HOPE I WILL HAVE AP OVER LIKE CO TOLD ME. CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW I CAN CHECK THE STATUS OF MY AP AND HOW I CAN EMAIL ISL FOR MY CSAE I ONLY KNOW THAT WHEN EMAILING ISL I WILL HAVE TO PUT MY ISL CASE NUMBER IN THE SUBJECT LINE WHAT I DONT KNOW WHAT TO TYPE IN THE EMAIL AND WHAT INFORMATIONS I GIVE THEM IN THAT EMAIL ABOUT MYSELF AND MY WIFE SO THEY WILL SEND ME A REPLY.

PLUS THAT BLUE FORUM SHE GAVE ME IT ONLY SAYS THAT I AM IN ADMINISTRATIVE BUT IT DOES NOT SAY 221g. AND ON THE BLUE FORUM IT ALSO SAYS THAT I WILL HAVE TO SUBMIT MY PASSPORT TO ISL ONCE AP IS OVER BUT THEY ALREADY HAVE MY PASSPORT THIS IS ANOTHER THING MAKES CONFUSION. ITS NOT EVEN A WEEK YET AM IN AP SHOULD I CONTACT THEM BY EMAIL YET OR NOT OR I WAIT UNTILL 6 WEEKS PASS. :bonk:

PLEASE EVERYONE PRAY FOR ME THAT MY AP OVER AND I GET VISA . insha Allah

Please :help:

A very close member of my family had her interview in October in Albania and she was put on Administrative Processing as well. I have done a lot of research on 221G and Administrative processing and you cannot narrow it down how long it will take. Looking at the data from different embassies around the world, there is really no telling, which is the hardest part about AP. The only thing that you can do for now, give it some time (not long) and start contacting the DC Visa Center to check the status and then contact the embassy. If you get the same answer over and over again, contact your Senator but make sure you document all the emails that you have sent to the embassy, all the phone calls that you have made to the Visa Center in DC and get the ball rolling.

Sallam all,

Today i visited Uscis website and i wanted to check my case status on that website i used to visit that website before Affidavit of support papers and now i found out that they have upgraded their web page for the Case Status Online and when i insert my i-130 Receipt number in their search and it brings this information.

My Case Status:

Your Current Case Status for Form I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

there are 7 case status and mine case indicate as Post-Decision Activity

I will type down all the status in my Case,

1: Acceptance

2: Initial Review

3: Request for Evidence

4: Testing and Interview

5: Decision

6: Post-Decision Activity

7: Document production or Oath Ceremony

and right now my Case status is like this,

Your Case Status:

Post-Decision Activity

first my case was accepted by Uscis 2nd Review 3rd request of evidence 4th testing and interview ( i had my interview at ISL ) 5th Decision 6th Post-Decision Activity (which is my Case Status on Uscis website ) does this mean that they have made a Decision on my case because Decision is on 5th number and my case Status is on 7th which is Post-Decision Activity,

My question is that they have made a Decision on my case thats why my case moved to 7th Post-Decision Activity from 6th Decision.

and whats difference in Post-Decision Activity and Decision.

I will copy and paste what it says on my Case Status Online when i insert my 130 Receipt number.

My Case Status
