Hi!

I am starting to make my AOS package because my wedding is 2 weeks from now, and we wanted to send it at the mid of August.

I am a K-1 Visa holder. I am a little bit confuse and I wanted to make sure that I am right regarding the form I-94.

PLEASE CORRECT IF I AM WRONG. :P

- The I-94 Form is the piece of detached paper that return to you by immigration in your POE. It has departure record and admission number.

- The I-94 number below of "admission number" with 9 numbers and 2 numbers that a bit far is the one written on that piece of paper where they stamped the validity and expiration of 90-days.

Where I could find my non-immigrant number in my passport? Is it the same as alien number?

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate what you will share regarding on this matter.

I-94 is a piece of paper that should be stapled inside your passport when you entered US by the customs officer. It is usually found on the same page of your US visa. Don't you have I-94 in your passport?

It is different from Alien number.

The non-immigrant number should be the red number on your Visa in your passport. The A number is your alien number and begins with an A.

Try viewing the Sample form. I know it helped me.

I'm preparing to file AOS for my soon-to-be husband as well but even reading the guides & seeing the examples is not helping. Where does an 'A' number come from? I have nothing in any of my documents to my knowledge that indicates he has one.

I'm also confused about the I-94 number. His I-94 stapled to his passport has 9 digits & 2 more spaced to the right of that number as mentioned above. Then on the back is handwritten another 9 digit number preceded by what could possibly be a '1', '4' or the letter 'A' (can't tell by the scribble what it is).

Can anyone advise which numbers to use & where to find the A number? Thanks!

On i485 form, Can somebody tell me where can I find the "Nonimmigrant Visa Number", for part 3? What about the A# and I94 number, part 1?

Thanks

Nonimmigrant Visa Number = 8 digit red number on the bottom right of your visa

A# = 8 digit number preceded by A, listed on your NOA2

I-94# = 11 digit black number on the top left of your I-94 card, which should be stapled to your passport

WHEW! Found this in the pinned AOS thread after searching for '94'. Answered my own question thanks to sweetpiano & hopefully helps others.
