This might be a stupid question..but what if you were pulled over for speeding, but it was only a verbal warning. Nothing else? Is that to be disclosed too?

No, you dont. I actually had 3 tickets that I didn't pay from few years back, so as a punishment my license was suspended for a year last year. I did not disclose that, not because I wanted to hide, but I didn't think its an arrest or detention. I just had my interview, and the officer asked me again if I had anything, on what I said no. She was very nice so I decided to ask her if I had to desclose in the aplication my situation, on what she answered that technically "yes" but she didn't correct anything in my form, and only thanked me for being honest. Good luck with your process!

The application asks if you were ever arrested, detained, or cited. So if you received a citation, you should disclose it. It doesn't sound to me like that applies to you. I'm no expert, but if I were in your situation, I wouldn't disclose it.

Practically speaking, you do not need to disclose your detention (yes, you were detained). Therefore, answer, "No".

Nothing you need to disclose for tickets less than $500

Nothing you need to disclose for tickets less than $500

The application tells you to disclose ANY time you were cited. It doesn't say anything about not disclosing citations under $500. However, the Naturalization Guide says that for citations under $500, you don't have to provide supporting evidence.

"Note that unless a traffic incident was alcohol or drug related, you do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines and incidents that did not involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500 and/or points on your drivers license."

http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/article/M-476.pdf

So, you still have to disclose citations under $500, but you shouldn't have to show any proof of payment or dismissal.

If you've found somewhere that says that you don't have to disclose tickets under $500, please let us know... I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are contradictory instructions.
