As long as it says how much is your annual salary, then that's all that matters. You can search online to find some samples, here's one I just found:

To whom it may concern:

(your name) is employed as a (your position) for (company name). He has been employed by (company name) for more than (years employed) years, since (start date).

His annual salary is (salary). In addition, he is eligible for an annual bonus of up to (bonus percent, if applicable) of his salary. Over the last 2 years, his bonus averaged (bonus amount) per year.

(your name) is a valuable employee, and his prospects for continued employment and advancement with (company name) are excellent.

Sincerely,

(your boss' name)
(his position)

I've not tried one from manager personally. But an associate of mine got one from manager on company letter pad and it was ok for him.

It doesn't have to be from the HR Department directly. I was a contractor at the company I worked for when I filed for my husband and the Admin. secretary for the contracting company was the one who typed it up and signed it.

It doesn't need to be notarized. no0pb.gif

FYI - for other folks - more often than not, many companies will not do a Letter of Employment so don't be disappointed if they don't. It's not required for the I-864, it's just an additional item to have if you can. good.gif

I just asked my boss and he said - you write it, I'll sign. Why can't everything be that simple smile.gif He wrote one for my citizenship only a few months back, so he's open to it all.

Is the employment letter only if your on a yearly salary? What if you are hourly? Averaging the four years will lower me below the Poverty guidelines for that job.

My employment letter was only for the current year, but it did indicate how long I worked for them. The salary stated was for the current year and I am a continuing employee.
