Peruvia Ceviche

First - To let everyone know, after what seemed like forever since the start of this process, we had our AOS interview in June. Actually our non-interview. It took less then 5 minutes. No questions and no submittal of documents. Unfortunately the interview took place three days before our 2nd wedding anniversary. so instead of the 10 year, we received the 2, but no matter.

My wife loves ceviche. By far her very favorite dish in Peru. Me, no thank you. I guess maybe it is a aquired taste. She has not been able to find a place in Houston that serves it (Like they do in Peru), nor find a good market in the Houston area where she can buy all of the necessary ingredients to prepare it. Anyone know of any place in the area?

Steve....... you may be able to find the ingedients at www.labodegaperuana.com

Also the 2 best fish here that we make it with is Telapia and Fresh Dolphin (mahi mahi) not flipper

As for restaurants in Houston... sorry cannot help...

3/14/08 - I-751 Removing Condition is in the mail
3/20/08 - Checked cashed
3/17/08 - I-751 Package signed and received
3/24/08 - Case moved to Vermont
4/17/08 - Biometrics completed
4/21/08 - Touched...........
6/16/08 - Touched once again........
11/3/08 - Touched again.. this is begining to feel good

mmm cebiche :) I love cebiche and with nothing in the cleveland area I am hoping that Kathe learns well from her sister on how to make it before arrival. Best bet is to try and get the freshest seafood you can in the area and have her try and make her own. It is not the sort of thing that most american's will go out looking for so finding it anywhere in the states without a large Peruvian/Ecuadorian community is going to be difficult. ;)

I also have been craving anticuchos something fierce recently.

For ceviche, have you tried the Lemon Tree Restaurant at 12591 Whittington Dr? Also Central Market should have all the ingredients you need in one stop. It's a bit pricey, but if you are going for authentic ingredients its the best palce to shop.

I have not heard of the restaurnat, but we certainly will give it a go when I complete my work out of town. Thanks for the info. I will let you know how we like it.
