Getting a police clearance from Dubai, UAE

My husband lived and worked in Dubai for a while (a few years ago), and I told him he will need to get a police clearance from there since he lived there after the age of 16.

He is now living in Jordan so he can't really go to the police in person in Dubai to get his document.

Does anyone know the best way to handle this? It SHOULDN'T be complicated (ha ha), but I'm wondering if they will be cooperative since he needs to do this from a distance. (And he hasn't tried calling them directly yet, but I'm encouraging him to try that first.)

I also found a pretty detailed answer on Yahoo with a list of what documents to submit and what to do. If anyone out there has RECENT experience getting a police clearance from Dubai, maybe you can send a little info this way.

So......if anyone knows something about the procedure to get a police clearance via mail from authorities in Abu Dhabi, then your advice will be welcomed!

MY WIFE HAVE TO GO BACK TO DUBAI TO GET HER CLEARANCE BUT SHE IS VISITING HER BROTHER ANYWAY. TO GET A PCC YOU HAVE TO BE IN PERSON... GOODLUCK I COULD BE WRONG! MAYBE HE KNOWS SOMEONE FROM THE PAST THERE THAT CAN HELP HIM.

I dont know ifthe "good conduct" cert is classified as a police clearance...but you can probably email them

Good Conduct Certificate

This service is offered when an individual requests for a certificate of good conduct.

Process Description

Please follow the steps below :

Within the UAE:

Visit the registration office.

Fill in the application form for a good conduct certificate.

Attach required documents.

Certificates will be delivered by post.

Outside the UAE:

The applicant’s fingerprints are to be taken at any police station within the country of residence.

The fingerprint card is to be attested by the UAE embassy in the applicant’s country of residence.

Enclose a cheque of USD 35.

Enclose a copy of the passport with the former residence of the applicant within the state.

Send the application to Abu Dhabi GHQ, P.O. Box 253

Certificates will be delivered by post.

When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

in UAE u can get PCC from every state , and valid for ALL UAE States.
