Notarizing Form I-134 (Affidavit of Support)

My fiance and I are going to the notary to get our final piece of paper for my interview. On the I-134, Affidavit of Support there is NO place for a notary signature, and little room on the form. Where/how does the notary sign it? On the instructions it said you need a notary for the Affidavit of Support, or consular officer to sign. Thanks in advance!

the new form requires NO notarization, so it appears... this was removed in the last form update that just recently came out.

Yes, the instructions on the website have not been updated to conform to the instructions on the latest form. I'd use the form instructions. Do make sure you use the new form with no space for a Notary to sign.

Hi Psalm...actually, they DID update the instructions. Look under the October 2008 new instructions under the heading "Execution of Affidavit" on the first page, first column. The new instructions are actually extremely clear. No notarization required because the form is signed under penalty of perjury. They changed the instructions to reflect the new form. Good luck!

I think she means they haven't changed them on the website, the page where you download the form from.

Yes it is true, no need of attorney's notarization! What most important is that u dont forget to put ur signature and other info...Goodluck and God bless!!!

I also read. It seems they have updated some of the instructions, not all. It states here...
