Hey Florida VJ'ers,

Below is a cheat sheet for the Florida Driver's Permit Test. I have painstakenly reviewed the Driver's Handbook and added the answers in red below the questions. You will need the handbook itself for a few of the lengthy answers and to personally validate the information for yourself. I do not guarantee anything here. Here is the link for the on-line .pdf file for the handbook. Sorry, my cheat sheet is only in English. I am also including a link to the State of Washington Handbook in other languages. Many of the laws are the same but many states do not offer multiple language versions of their handbooks. I hope that you find this useful information. There may even be other languages in other states.

STEADY RED LIGHT MEANS TO STOP UNTIL LIGHT IS NO LONGER RED. FLASHING RED MEANS TO STOP AND THEN PROCEDE ONLY WHEN IT IS SAFE TO DO SO (SAME AS STOP SIGN).

51. Can you proceed with caution when you approach a flashing yellow light? (pg 29)

YIELD SIGNS ARE USUALLY PLACED WHERE AUXILLARY ROADS LEAD INTO MAJOR ROADS

DRIVING TO THE LEFT OF DOUBLE YELLOW LINES IS PROHIBITED IN EITHER DIRECTION UNLESS MAKING A LEFT TURN WHEN SAFE TO DO SO. A DOUBLE SOLID WHITE LINE SEPARATES TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC IN THE SAME DIRECTION AND CROSSING THESE LINES IS PROHIBITED.

56. What does a broken white line on the highway mean? (pg 40)

IN FLORIDA, THE BICYCLE IS LEGALLY DEFINED AS A MOTOR VEHICLE

63. What is the proper way to use anti-lock brakes in an emergency situation? (pg 42)

DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL FIRMLY (IF REQUIRED) AND STEER THE CAR AWAY FROM DANGER

64. What does anti-lock braking systems prevent when used in an emergency stopping situation? (pg 42)

SKIDDING CAUSED BY NON-ROTATION OF THE WHEELS
