Sa isang buwan, magkano ba ang average na nagagastos ninyo para sa pagkain sa isang buwan para sa 5 katao?

Tanong lang po.. para sa isa kong kaibigan na nag iisip ng kanyang budget para sa pamilyang nasa pilipinas.. Ako po ay nag iisa kaya hindi ko malaman ang isasagot sa kanya kaya naisipan ko itanong ito dito sa VJ.

I would allot $225 for the 5 people, dont be a cheapskate (kirpot) and dont add just the minimum to get by for the people you want to support/give. $225 at a rate of Php45 per $1 would give them (Php10125)which is plenty and then some to live off. Thank you for the response. Actually this question does not belong to me.. This is for my friend who does not work in the US.. and just depending to her husband.. Since I am not living in the Philippines for many years, I dont know what to tell her.. So to give her comfort, I will have her read all the opinions in VJ...

If the person does not work, how will he/she send money? If that is the case, give as much as he/she can. Again, I would start at Php10000 which is $225 and start working backwards, meaning lesser if I cant afford that. $225 may seem a lot but believe me, its not, even in the province. I could never live off $225 in the province especially to support 5 people. That is basically only P22 per person per meal or roughly $0.44 a meal.

I would suggest that your friend send the amount of money she can afford right now. Its hard to give a baseline if she does not have means to support her family in the province. It might put a strain on her marriage.

The other thing i want to convey... .. its not the amount of money you have.. its how you spend the money. Either your friend give them USD $ 500 a month or USD $100, if the her family in the province doesnt know the proper way of handling money... no matter the amount she gives.. it wont be enough. But if her family knows how to spend it, no matter how small it is... they will survive. Filipinos are resilient. We are survivor.
