TRANSCRIPT of RECORDS: do I need to have it authenticated?

 Share

17 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

I had my TOR, College Diploma and S.O. (Special Order) authenticated at CHED right after college graduation... after a few years I went back to college to earn 21units in B.S. Education just enough to qualify me to take the Licensure Exam for Teacher. After that, I enrolled in the graduate school taking up Master's in Education majoring in SPED.

My question: Is it a must for me to have my latest TOR authenticated by CHED or the TOR with school seal enough?

Thank you very much to those who will share inputs.

Since it will still be a while before you leave..it think it will be better if you'll have your TRO's authenticated. It's better to be overprepared than regret doing that when you are in the US already.. :)

It's just my opinion though. I'm thinking of getting my papers authenticated also. God bless us!

Thanks chris-lei.

Yeah, I do still have time to have my papers authenticated. I even went to CHED earlier today only to be told they have additional requirements for authentication.. before you just bring the documents to be authenticated, pay the fee and presto you just wait a few days for releasing...

Now, in order to comply with the additional requirement i would need to go back to our school , request for it, wait for a week for the releasing then go back to CHED (office in davao).. all these wont be a problem really, it is just that my old school is in davao city and I live in tagum and fare from my hometown to davao have soared up and I just hate going back and forth wasting money and time. So if I could get away from having my papers authenticated then I would.

I read somewhere that there is an international body (based in the US) that evaluates education credentials obtained abroad, I am wondering if they would need our TOR to be authenticated before they evaluate or TOR straight from our school is enough for evaluation.

Nagkukuripot lang talaga ako ngaun sa money at time.

Hmmm, red ribbon.. ano requirements? kailangan parin idaan sa ched or ok na yong TOR na straight from the school? at least kasi if pa-red ribbon ako, submit ko sya sa DHL office in davao tapos balikan ko nalang after a week or two, bale twice lang yon pabalik balik di ba?

My TOR were not authenticated and it was accepted here for evaluation by AACRAO. Some Evaluating Agency will require that your school will send the TOR directly to them. In AACRAO they only asked for a copy.

TOR, SO and other school documents pa CAV mo tpos sasabihin mo kailangan mo ng red ribbon nito, kc requirements to work aboard sla yung mag-forward sa DFA then u can choose to pick up in manila o antayin mo kailan ma-release sa Davao office.

Note : they give me white slip na may date kailan pueding ma-pick up and i picked up my school docs. when i was in manila.

Dbears, Just search the board of eduction in your state because they have specific agency.. Mine was really fine. It is nice you got SPED there wish I did that too because SPED are in demand here grabe... I have to take up a 5 hr course for that alone because it is required here if you want a clear renewable certificate. Did you teacher there? if you do bring a teaching portfolio as well they might ask for you to show them your work. My coming here was not so prepared I guess.. Got to keep looking here..In time God will help me find my place here. God bless.

Hello Riz, i just checked back on this topic, sorry late nakareply ang lola mo... I did not teach here, i only did volunteer work. i love being around kids, especially those with special needs but i don't have the patience for the paper work. My first course was B.S. Commerce and my work experiences was all in the field of commerce. There's still paper work but not as burdensome as in the teaching field. I just took education units and then SPED coz the special kids do have a special place in my heart and I thought that was enough :( ... but i do have dreams of helping to establish a less aversive method of intervention for children under the austism spectrum here in the philippines or kahit man lang sa davao someday. Kasi as of now, yong method of intervention ng mga special ed teachers handling kids with autism is masyadong rough, it totally breaks my heart. :(

I also don't have plans of teaching in NC, maybe volunteer work sa austism intervention centers during my spare time... but i'd still be leaning towards the business field when i get there.

Musta na job hunting mo? Hope you'd be successful to be able to teach when class start next fall.

hello joyce, sa Princeton pa kami, it's a small town in Johnston county, bale 1hour ride from raleigh daw... sure, i would love to meet you someday soon, september 4 pa kami alis but meron ng mga vjers who are in NC. Dora2x (Rose), sa Raleigh din mismo yong place nya.

Good luck sayo and Happy trip soonest.

You can always teach when you get to the US. It is one of the recession free field daw according to yahoo news that i read months back.
