My husband is here on K3 (without an approved I130). Well, we did finally have an interview for the I130 and we recently received the approval notice (yay!!!) On the approval it is under classification IR6. What does this mean?

Thanks :)

Hi there and congrats, IR6 is the category under which you were granted permanent residence. IR6 generally means you adjusted here in the US from a visa other than a K1, although some offices use IR6 for K1 adjustees as well.

thanks, it was confusing on the notice cause it didnt say anything about permanent residence. It said that the person is now elgible to adjust status, we did that already

( LAST YEAR!)

Then you'll probably notice the green card says IR6 as well. Sounds like a late approval notice.
