Hello all,

Well the time has finally arrived for Marilyn's last step. I am gathering the paperwork (again) for the N-400 submission in early January. Can anyone post a sample cover letter if used, I always like to compare what I come up with against others who's packet has been received and accepted.

Thanks, Marilyn and Peter.

K-1 Timeline in Profile (our story)

Church wedding Sept 18

NOA1's for AOS/EAD received Sept 20 MSC #

Biometrics completed Nov 5 2004

EAD Approval Dec 29 2004

AOS appointment letter received Feb 3 2005

AOS interview scheduled for March 9 2005

AOS interview mostly fine, just need I-693 supplement filled out by civil surgeon

Spend another $40 for I-693 form, sent to local USCIS office registered mail, arrived March 11 2005

AOS finally approved March 25th 2005

Green card arrives about 10 days later

!!Green card has incorrect middle name!! Thanks USCIS

Travel back to Denver, turn in card and I-90 to correct their mistake.

Application accepted, asked for I-551 stamp, they told me "We don't do stamps anymore"

NOA1 for I-90 received from NSC April 18 2005, fee waived

NSC appears to have stoped processing I-90's

Marilyn needs to travel back to the RP, call Senators office for help with green card or I-551 stamp

Travel back to Denver July 1, 2005 and received I-551 stamp in the passport.

No one responded with a sample so I created one using parts of the cover letter I used for AOS and I-751. I have attached it here.

We did do a cover letter for the I-751, did that cause delays? Never fooled with that for the N-400, just organized and sent in the stack of required evidence. Doubt if anyone would read it anyway.

See now the USCIS has an evidence check list, for my stepdaughters five year application recall only one box that had to be checked. Printed that out and checked that one box, underlining in red what she had to send in. Only did that so they couldn't say something was missing and put that on top of her near empty evidence they required.

Still nothing in there about sending in proof you paid for a minor traffic violation, especially a 50 buck fine including court cost she got as a minor. But not easy dealing with a field office that either doesn't follow USCIS guidelines or makes up rules as they go along.

Also ran into that with USCIS approved doctors that insisted we had to pay for tests not even on the I-693 form running up the bill to $5,000 per person. Those I could walk away from, but believe we are stuck with our assigned field office. Would be certainly worth being able to choose one with a same day oath and buy a plane ticket, but we don't have that choice. Or do we?
