  1. Hi all, My wife who has a Pakistani passport is planning on applying for a Turkey visit visa. I was wondering, if my wife has a visa rejection stamp from Turkey, will this cause her case to go into Administrative Processing the after interview, or could any other issue happen? I would imagine a visa rejection stamp from snother country would not look good, but she does already have travel history to other countries. Thank you!
  2. Hey everyone, It looks like a lot of us are all in the same boat waiting for appointments at the Ankara, Turkey Embassy. We all get the same message "There are no available appointments at this time." I wanted to start this thread to share tips, updates, and let everyone know when I find an appointment available in hopes of helping others. Best of luck to everyone,
  3. Hello fellow travelers. This question is specifically aimed at K/CR/IR visa petitioners and beneficiaries in Türkiye. *How does the NVC, consulate Immigrant Visa Unit, etc communicates with all? Do they send paper mail or is everything done via email or text (like on B2 process)? I ask because (as you know) PTT does not leave mail in boxes and instead hands delivers. If we’re traveling out of the country, we would like to stay updated and not miss important correspondence.* Thank you for you input.
  4. Hi everyone, We applied for a K1 visa and got NOA1 on 1/03/22. We put down the embassy location as Warsaw, Poland based on guidance for Russian applicants. With all the recent issues of Russians trying to enter Europe, we wanted to explore a different option. We both are residents of Turkey and we wanted to see if we can transfer our case to either the Istanbul or Ankara location. Our reasoning is that we are both residents and it would save us time and money (having to fly back to Russia, get a Schengen visa, go to a European country, and then go to Poland - where there is a lot of scrutiny to Russian passport holders.) My question is do I reach out the Turkish (Istanbul/Ankara) locations now or after NOA2 approval? I've heard conflicting information from many sources so I wanted to get someones input from here. Notes: I'm a US Citizen, my fiancee is Russian We both have been living together in Turkey since 2021 as Residents and we both hold valid resident permits We got NOA1 for our K1 visa application and listed Warsaw, Poland as our Embassy Location
  5. Hello - My husband is immigrating from Turkey and we are waiting to be DQ'd by the NVC currently. We just received feedback from the NVC that my husband's police and birth certificates are the incorrect documents, even though we pulled them straight from the website that the travel.state.gov website references. Does anyone have experience with this or could point us in the direction of where to find the correct documents? I screenshotted just the tops of each document here to show the names of the doc, but not include any personal information. Please help if you can!
  6. So my fiancés case finally reached Turkey today, he completed the ds-160 form. I just need to finish the I-134 forms. I have a few questions. my fiancé does not have a birth certificate as they do not receive any, will his jensia be sufficient? does he need to do his medical exam in Turkey or Iraq? He also has no vaccination documentation so will the appointment cover that or should he get that on his own in Iraq? since there are no mailing services where he lives how will he receive his visa? And if he receives it there in Turkey how long would that take? is it safe to go to Turkey 10 days prior to the interview and get his exam then? How early should he do that? also, should I have already received an email for the interview? How does that work? my fiancé has only cash as he is self employed, how might I prove this in the I-134? what should He bring to the interview other than the general checklist USCIS provides? my last question, is it okay if we have our wedding in Iraq before we legally marry in Arizona? All of our family is there and there’s no point in doing it in the US. So I’m hoping it’s alright im sorry this is so many questions I’m just very confused at the moment and do not want to mess up! Thank you so much in advance.
  7. Hello, my wife’s case was DQ’d on 09/21/2021 originally was supposed to be interviewed in Baghdad, Iraq, but was moved to US Embassy Ankara, Turkey. I applied for the I130 and my I130 was approved in two months. I sent everything to the NVC and we were approved documentarily. It seems like it’s taking forever. It’s almost 9 months now. I checked timelines for Turkish citizens and some are being interviewed within 4-6 months. Any info would be helpful and we are going to a lot of stress. Thank you and God bless
  8. Hello, I need help understanding the process of changing consulate locations for my fiancé's interview. I have only heard that they received the petition and it will likely be a few more months before it is accepted or denied. I filed an i-29f for a k1 visa in July 2021. My fiancé lives in Turkey as a student, and originally is from Morocco. I have been reading reviews and it seems like the Moroccan embassy denies a lot more than the Turkish one and has a lot more problems. Also, it would be more convenient since she is living in Turkey currently. Thanks so much for the help!
  9. Hello, my fiancé is from Morocco and lives in Turkey as a student. She is a third country national and I saw in a form that you have to be a citizen or have permanent residency in Turkey or you have to go through special steps as a Third Country National. Please help me know if this is still the case. I found this information while researching embassy changes on this form posting: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/759954-is-request-for-change-of-embassy-for-interview-possible/ "Due to health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 global pandemic, as of February 4, 2021, the U.S. Embassy in Ankara is prioritizing immigrant visa services for Turkish Citizens and Turkish residents. For Third Country Nationals (“TCNs”) who have Turkish resident permits, please email AnkaraIV@state.gov with the front and back of your Turkish resident permit so we can discuss the next steps. Unless there is a genuine humanitarian or medical emergency, the U.S. Embassy in Ankara is unable to provide visa services to TCNs who do not have Turkish resident permits" Thanks for all the help!
