  1. Background: My naturalized us citizen wife is sponsoring her mother to become a permanent resident. Belarussian Passports have two ID pages, one that is in Russian and Belarussian, and the other which is in English. The English page does not list the middle name. The Russian and Belarussian page lists the patronymic which may or may not be considered a “middle name”. For form I-693, we left my wife’s mother's middle name blank because it is not on the English page of her Belarussian passport and this was the first document we completed. It is completed and sealed by the Civil Surgeon so we cannot make changes to it. Will it cause any issues if we list my wife’s mother’s middle name on other documents (I-130, I-485, etc), but not the I-693?
  2. Hello, I reside in Houston, TX. Fort bend county, and today my fiance and I went to our local county clerk to get our marriage certificate. I handed them my US passport along with my Fiance's Vietnam Passport, and they told me that they have to match the order of her name that is on her passport. So on our marriage certificate it shows her name in the following order (Middle Name, First Name, Last Name). Which is wrong. My name is shown in the correct order. They told me it has to be this way and that it can't be changed. I'm worried that we may have complications when we apply for ssn, greencard, us citizenship, buy a house, opening a joint bank account, etc that her name being in the wrong order will give us problems. Could someone please help me with this. I'm not sure if this is a normal thing and it can be somehow changed later and not to worry about it. Or is it something we must look into and get it resolved ASAP to avoid future complications? Any help is greatly appreciated.
  3. Hi guys, my wife has a specific name that she uses in all her official documents, but people call her or refer to her by some names called in love, and she uses one of those names as her email ID as well & on her social media accounts too (but they aren't mentioned in the official documents). Should we mention those names too? Or will the official name only will do?
  4. Hello everyone! We have almost everything ready to send the K1 visa papers, but there is one question I am not sure about. On the I-129F form, part 1, in the question of other names used. My fiancé has a Korean name which is his birth name and it is the one that appears on all legal documents: birth certificate, passport, credit cards, etc. However, when he moved to the US he started using Justin as it was easier to pronounce. This name does not appear on any legal document, but everyone knows him by that name. It appears in his emails, social networks and on his business cards. I just call him Justin, never by his original name. Should we put Justin in the section of other names used, even though it does not appear in any legal document? Thank you very much!
