  1. Any idea what the current wait times are for an interview in Ciudad Juarez? My husband's application was documentarily qualified by the NVC at the end of July 2022. I'd love to get a sense of how long the process is currently taking.
  2. Any clue if this still works the same now or has anything changed?
  3. Hi, my question is in the title but I will give more context. I'm a British citizen married to a USC and we filed our standalone i-130 in November 2023. When he had to leave the UK after we got married we couldn't stand being apart so we decided that I would move to Tijuana, Mexico and he would cross every day to be with me. He works and will maintain his address in San Diego. I'll be moving to Mexico as a temporary resident by family. (Previously we thought of us each visiting for long periods but that has it's own issues) So that leaves which embassy i'll be doing my American interview through. On the i-130 I put I would be going through the London, UK embassy because that was the plan at the time. But now I will be living in Mexico I just want to be 1000% sure can I still have my interview in London? I have a flexible ticket back so I can easily be there. It's about 1.5 years longer going through either embassy in Mexico compared to the UK. and BONUS QUESTIONS: when I do move to TJ i'm thinking i'll need to let USCIS know. How do I do that? or is it only by the NVC stage i have to submit the documents? We had an extensive amount of evidence up until this point. I've submitted unsolicited evidence before, in this situation should I put through more? It's an odd one for my husband as he will have an address in SD and in TJ and we'll be getting a joint Mexican bank accounts together which was not possible because we lived in separate countries. Great bona fide evidence but is it odd he's living in 2 places at once? Or just he's visiting me or what? It's hard to get my head round. I'm not worried about him having loose ties to the US but should I be? Thank you and hope I put this in the right category although my post has kind of evolved with these extra questions.
  4. We have a 72 page document in Spanish. The embassy pre-interview checklist says it must be translated to English but doesn't indicate whether it must be professionally done or if we can just translate ourselves. Any idea?
  5. ***CRIMINAL RECORD/NEED ADVICE*** My husband was arrested in Mexico City 10 years ago. I do not see any instructions for beneficiaries with a criminal record, only instruction for obtaining a certificate of no penales. But what if you have been arrested??? What documents does he need to have with him at the interview??? We were DQ'd by NVC in January 2023. By the looks of everyone else's wait time, he may get an interview in january 2024. Anyone's spouse have a criminal record??? What did they need to bring to the interview???? Thanks
  6. Only want to hear from those with drug charges or their petitioners. My husband was charged with simple possession of marijuana 11 years ago. Our interview in Juarez, Mexico is next month for the IR1 Visa. Would like to know what we're facing. Denial? Denial with conditions? Anyone been approved? Tell me your story. Thanks
  7. My sister is petitioning my BIL that lives in Mexico but is Colombian. Could he have his interview in Bogota since Mexico is a Longer wait. He is a resident of Mexico, but a citizen of Colombia.
  8. Hello, I recently started prepping paperwork to help my mom renew her tourist visa and noticed the old visa she has is a stamp on her old passport that reads: "Mexican Border Crossing Identification Card and B1/B2 Nonimmigrant Visa" ID: BEARER(S) Valid indefinitely for multiple applications for admission to the United States as a temporary visitor for business or pleasure" this was given to her in 1988 and I have a couple questions: - Is this still valid to use for travel to the US (bringing old expired passport with non-expired visa and new valid passport) - Do we need to "renew" even though it has technically never expired? - Are there any specific steps or forms to get this exact visa on her new passport? Thank you for your help!
  9. This is a story that was published in my local news. I know the family. Mexican National cannot legally return to US with Husband and kids Long story short: -She arrived in the USA at 4yrs old illegally and has lived here most of her life -At 22yrs old, she married a US citizen (2012) in the States -They have 5 children together -She wanted to file legal documents to become a legal resident, obtain a license, etc -She was advised to fly to Mexico to start the process - She was denied Re-Entry to the USA - Its been 18 months since her denial and she has been stuck in Mexico ever since -Family is desperate for solutions -Lawyer states she may have to stay in Mexico (separated from her husband 5 kids for up to 10 years) Does anyone have any advice? Any sort of help is appreciated! Thanks
  10. We were DQ'd a few days ago. How long did it take for notice of your interview date? Also, we're assigned to Juarez even though my husband lives in Mexico City. Strange and highly inconvenient. Do i request a medical exam? Do i request an interview date? Thanks
  11. Hi, I am new here so I apologize if this is not the right spot to ask this. When traveling from Ciudad Juarez to El Paso for the first time, how does the process work? Can I have a taxi drop me off at the border on the Mexico side? Is that where the office to do the admission paperwork is? OR do i get dropped off there, walk a bit on the bridge until i get to the office? Sorry this is confusing. I just would like to know the details on how to reach the office and where my taxi should drop me off. Thanks to any and all responses.
  12. Hey everyone, this may be a little confusing, but my wife is currently in the process of adjusting from her B2 status based on marriage. I'm a US citizen. My father has been an LPR with Mexican citizenship all my life, and my parents never got me dual citizenship. Now I'm exploring the process of obtaining Mexican citizenship which seems incredibly simple and straightforward as I am the child of a Mexican. My question is can I pursue this at the same time my wife and I are awaiting her EAD and our interview? I would continue living in the USA and have no plans to reside in Mexico. I would love to become a dual citizen and the only thing that is stopping me is our current situation and the fear that this might complicate anything for my wife and I. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks so much.
