  1. We received our interview appointment date by email on November 6th, 2023. I was wondering if they also mail out a letter before the interview or if we need to print out the email that we received and bring that to the interview?
  2. I figured I'd start this thread as I have submitted my paperwork on April 5th.
  3. Hello all, I did not see a recent thread for this group of filers so i thought I would start one just in case someone needed a place to share any updates or encouragement on their VJ. Since I have not been on the site in a while due to sheer discouragement with my own immigration case, I decided enough is enough, it is time to get back in the fight. So, it is truly a waiting game to say the least. I am the U.S. petitioner and my husband is in Kenya. We got married on August 16, 2021, I filed (with a lawyer mind you which is another story) in September making our our priority date September 27th, 2021. The case went from the Potomac Service Center and winded up in the National Benefits Center in Lee Summit ,MO(the dead zone when you have mishaps with your case from the lawyer) in February 20222. I reached out to my State Senator in April 2022. And they have little by little moved our case along. I received an update from the Senator's office in April 2023 that our case is now in the Saint Louis, Mo field office awaiting a selection of an officer to adjudicate our case. USCIS sent an e-mail last week to the lawyer ( who I haven't heard from by the way) and me indicating they were acknowledging his request for inquiry into our case being overdue for a decision. They stated they will either schedule me an interview or waive the interview and adjudicate our case. So, now we are no longer in limbo as we were for the first leg of our journey and our patience with this process has taught us a lot of valuable lessons such as hope, a deeper insight into ourselves and the process. We are weathering many hardships including finances, my new health challenges, etc. Stay the course even though it is difficult because it is well worth the effort!
  4. I dated this American lady for a while and I caught her cheating and broke up with her. After some months I met my wife, also an American and we git it off and got married. I have been approved for CR1 at uscis and awaiting NVC now. The thing is that my ex has been on my case ever since she found out I got married. She has been trying her best to get me back regardless of my marriage, she has sent several mails over months apologizing to try to get my back and I have religiously refused her at ever turn. She sent me a message some days ago after some months of silence begging that I forgive her and she cried everyday and feels empty and I responded that I have moved on with my life and I love my wife. She figured out she’s been rejected and I’ve truly moved on and she swears in another mail that I am dangerous and I’m a threat to her and her family, She took to insulting my wife and I calling me a scammer and my wife a ho. Next thing she tags me to a mail to the fraud unit of the justice department reporting me to them and accusing me for fraud. Citing that I defrauded her. Mind you while we were dating, I never for once asked this lady for money. She voluntarily bought gifts like on my birthday and when she visited . She occasionally offered money which I accepted. But I dated her and we broke up because she was cheating and she is looking for a way to ensure I don’t make it home to my family. What steps do I take to prove my innocence to the justice department/ I have all the receipts to prove my innocence and she dosent have one single evidence against me and my lovely wife.
  5. Just finished DCF in Italy. The info on this form of DCF in Italy is very little, so I decide to share my experience for people looking for the same process outside of the popular countries (Germany and UK) on this forum. - My situation: My husband is USC, and I am a Chinese Citizen, both have been living and working in Italy for 6 years. We were married in the US before moving to Italy. I was studying then working in the US at that time. - Qualification for DCF: my husband has a job offer from US requiring us moving back. - Timeline (2022): - May 30th: emailed US Consulate in Naples, asking for DCF due to USC job offer in USA expring on Dec 31st. - June 1st: Consulate replied, approving DCF and offered an appointment for my husband to submit I-130 on July 8th. In their email they attached a list of docs my husband needed to bring (I-130 + bona fide marriage proof, and passport photos etc.). - July 8th: My husband went to the appointment in Naples, submitted the docs. - July 22nd: Consulate emailed to inform the I-130 is approved, and gave us the case number for filling DS-260 form and schedule the interview, with a list of docs to bring. - Oct 17th: Medical exam in the appointed clinic in Naples. It is automatically booked with the visa interview. - Oct 18th: My interview in US Consulate Naples. They only took the I-864 form, my husband's last 3 IRS transcript, my police certificates and birth certificate. The officer asked 2 questions ("When did you get married?" and "How did you meet?"), then said "Ok, you visa is approved." - Oct 25th: received my passpor with IR1 visa and the seled immigration envolope to hand in at the border. A few thoughts on the process: - US Consulate Naples is actually very responsive. We did not have much hope going into this as there is so little info online and the only thing I saw was that they do not reply to emails. My personal experience is very pleasant with them. - The whole process from the initial enquiry email to having my visa in hand took less than 5 months. The longest was for me to shcedule my interview, which is my delay because I had a baby at the end of July, so waited for Oct to attend the interview. I believe the whole process could be completed well within 3 months if needed. - We prepared extensive materials for the final interview, including a lot of bona fide marriage docs, and financial proof. In the end they did not look at or even ask for anything. No request for my husband's financial proof that his salary is going to continue in the US (we prepared a letter from his employer stating that but they did not ask to look at it at all). We also prepared the proof of our assets, but also they did not ask or look at it. Only thing they took was the IRS transcript showing our last 3 years' tax (income from Italy). - The interview took only 2 min. It makes me feel they have already made the decision (to give me the visa) before seeing me. Now we're just waiting to go home before Christmas. Tickets bookd! I'm happy to answer any questions if needed. Wish everyone good luck!
  6. I want to use my stock holdings and bank account value (savings + checking) to supplement my income in the I-864, I wanted to know - Do we enter the value of the savings+checking account and stock value on the day we sign the form (Since stock values do change from day to day)? - What kind of evidence do we need to include - 1) Bank statements downloaded from online banking for last 12 months , or a single bank statement from online banking that shows the account balances for the last 12 months ? 2) For stocks - Tax reporting statement from last year + Brokerage monthly statement downloaded for online for each month of this year ? Will this be enough? Is any attestation required?
  7. Hi All, My wife had applied for a passport address change in India one month ago, and while her current passport was marked as canceled at her appointment, her new passport has not arrived yet. Her IR1 case is at NVC. Our NVC 1 year deadline is approaching fast, and I have already paid the fees and will be soon uploading some documents as well. I wanted to submit the document before the year is up. Can I upload her current passport in lieu of the new passport even though it has been marked canceled (I would like to do that if possible) ? Or should I upload everything else (fees is already paid) and then submit after we get the passport even though the 1 year date may be crossed?
