Hi everyone, I am a GC holder in the US and my wife and son are in India waiting for our F2A IL since being DQ'd in Sept 2021. We had our second child in Nov' 22. Can someone please shed some light on whether I need to add the newborn to the existing application and submit DS-260 or is there any other alternative to it? Will adding him push the DQ date to the present date? Thanks

Hello, guys, The appointment was on January 23, they gave us a 221g because a birth certificate and an I-864 were missing. Documents sent two days later and was received at the consulate on January 30-31. On the 9th they say that it is in administrative process, from rejected to administrative process. Someone knows how long it could take approximately (I know that there are never exact times and everything depends) but for example the same consul who interviewed us said that once the documents were sent that the process can take 2-3 weeks. I don't know how real that is, but he said it.

Hi All, My Priority Date is 20-sep-20 and Category is F2A.My interview is done on16th April 23. Interviewer congratulated me and told me that Visa is approved and they hold my passport for visa and said it will be delivered to 3 to 4 weeks.. Till now today (24th May 23) Its status is Ready. As per this month Visa Bulletin Report. Final Action Date for F2A Category is 08-Sep-20. Is this the reason that my visa status is still not "Issued"?

Hi, group. I hope everyone is doing fine today. 18 years ago my dad (LPR back then) applied for my mom (beneficiary) and me (me as a derivative) with the form I-130 in 2003. USCIS sent us a notice of approval in 2005, but after that, my dad didn't follow up with NVC. I asked NVC for my case number and they replied. I checked the status and it says "At NVC". NVC sent a notice of 1 year in 2011 but still my dad didn't follow up for reasons beyond his control. Is it possible to continue with this case after 18 years? maybe with a lawyer? Or do I need to start over with USCIS and a new I-130? I am 27 years old (not married) and my dad is a USA citizen now (naturalized). USCIS still shows as "My case was approved" NVC shows: At NVC. I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance!

I am permanent residence and submitted my husband's I-130 last June when visa bulletin status was current. However, the visa bulletin for April, Final Action dates for family sponsored preference cases of F2A is changed from current to 08Sep20. What does this mean to us? We've been waiting for NOA2 but does this change gonna affect to NOA2? or since I submitted I 130 last June when status was current, is it ok?

Hello! Did anyone get a visa appointment for their case in Beirut Lebanon? Our Visa Category is F2A and we were DQ'ed last June, I'm becoming impatient as this is taking us more so much time. What should we do? I contacted the embassy last month and they said they didn't receive our case and we should contact NVC, contacted NVC, NVC said the embassy didn't give them the date yet. So I contacted the embassy last week again to get an update. I'm worried if they simply forgot us? Is that even possible? Also we were wondering if there is anybody in the same category at US Consulate in Beirut who got their appointment scheduled? It's really frustrating that we have no idea where we are standing and they don't seem to care much. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you

Hi all, I am wondering if there is any way (other than USCIS processing time) of knowing real data of how long it is taking to process i130 esp at Vermont. The not knowing how long is killing me. I cant plan anything and I feel so stuck! it has been 412 since our post date and 254 since AR! It is so hard!

Hello, I am looking for advice regarding the following situation: I am an LPR who submitted an I-130 for my husband. Our petition got approved and the case was transferred to NVC. My husband has a child from his previous marriage, and somehow this child appeared under "Derivative applicants" list once we logged into CEAC. His son is not planning to move to the US with him, but it would be great to keep this option open, if it exists. I understand that we can change the derivative's status from "ACCOMPANY" to "FOLLOW TO JOIN", but the question is, do we need to 1) pay the $325 fee for him at this time and 2) submit all the civil documents? If we don't do it, will it delay my husband's case processing? Thank you!

Hi all, I sponsored my wife in HK for the immigration visa and timeline is as below. As you can see below, the visa class is changed to IR1 when I became a US citizen and I want to know it will help to speed up her interview date at the U.S. consulate in HK. Also, if anyone knows similar case with us, please share with information. USCIS receipt date for I-130: May 24, 2020 NVC receipt date: December 20, 2020 NVC documentarily complete date: April 08, 2021 Visa class changed from F21 to IR1: May 31, 2022 No interview date scheduled yet Much appreciated and good luck for other fellows waiting for immigration visas. Cheers!

Hello guys! I was wondering if at nvc & us embassies, IR cases and F2A are the same for the priority in getting an interview or IR1/2 have more priority? and if yes, how much faster is it? I’m asking because I’ve found a lot of ir cases getting interviews in my country (knowing that they have the same dq date as me) where mine (f2a) didn’t receive it yet! Thank you!

Hi, I am a PR based in Austin, Texas. I recently got married to an Indian Citizen. We filed the I-130 and now we’re waiting. Until recently, I thought it would be easy to bring my husband to USA since I’ve seen many friends and family who have H1B visa bring their spouse in a very short time frame (few weeks to few months). I always thought it made sense that USCIS processes spouse based visas quickly - why would anyone keep a married couple apart!! I assumed Permanent Residents would have the same sort of timeline to bring their spouses to USA, or even quicker since PR > H1B. Boy was I wrong. I can’t believe I’m looking at a 2-3 year timeline before I can bring my husband to USA. Now, how am I supposed to navigate this situation? 1. My husband does not have ANY USA visa to even VISIT me - and now that his I130 is being processed, there is no way he’s getting a visitor visa. 2. I need to keep working/living in usa so as to not lose my green card. What does USCIS expect me to do?! Stay in usa for 3 years and visit my husband once in a while until his green card comes through? That seems inhumane even for USCIS’s standards. And especially as a permanent resident I don’t expect to have to deal with these timelines. Am I missing something? Someone please help me understand what’s going on because the last thing I want is to be stuck in a long distance relationship for 3 years.

The case has been in ready status since then. Does anyone know when we can expect an interview letter? Ive tried contacting the embassy but can't get hold of anyone who can provide any useful info

What is the typical timeline for F2a after USCIS approval? The child was approved at 20 yr 5 mon in Mar 2022, I am not sure but it seems like the F2a processing is current. The petition is now at NVC. The "ceac" website allows me to pay for DS-260 only, not for Affidavit. It shows this message: Due to the numerical limitations on immigrant visa issuance prescribed by law, this petition is not eligible for further processing at this time. The National Visa Center (NVC) will retain the petition until an immigrant visa becomes available. The NVC will notify the petitioner, principal applicant, or attorney of record when this petition is eligible for further processing. The principal applicant should not make any firm plans such as disposing of property, giving up jobs, or making travel arrangements at this time. What does this mean? How do I proceed? How do I make sure she does not age out?
