  2. I (US citizen) applied for an IR1 visa for my wife (non US citizen). She got documentarily qualified over three months ago by NVC. The email said they would work with the US consulate in Lagos to schedule an interview and they would let us know. We still haven't heard anything since then. I've been reading some stuff about a huge backlog at the US consulate in Lagos regarding interviews. I'm considering applying for our case to be rescheduled l expedited. Our kids are US citizens but they are with her. They cannot be here with me in the US as there will be no one to take care of them while I work. My wife is also unable to work in Nigeria as she is by herself and there is no one to look after the kids if she goes to work. Can I apply for an expedited interview on this basis because honestly, we need to be together as a family. I hate being away from my wife and kids and vice versa. I would also like our kids to start preschool here soon and that's impossible without my wife being here. I appreciate your advice.
  3. After a month waiting of stand-alone I130 consular filing, with a PD of 9/15, we got approved last night. We had a severe case to expedite and it was approved. I am checking the case status and the case is still open even though we have the receipt of notice of approval. I read online that after that, the case status will be “forwarded to NVC”, and then get a welcome letter sometimes. My plan is to send an expedite request to the provided email providing the same proofs and mentioning to them that USCIS approved our expedite request. I am just not sure if there is a time or stage I should wait or if I can just go ahead?
  4. I'm American and worried about my fiancee who lives in Iran because of the political situation going on over there, and of course Iran being implicated in the planning of the HAMAS thing not making it any easier. So I talked with a user on here about him getting a successful expedite request for his Iranian fiancee based on certain personal reasons. He said "my fiancé is an Iranian and I’m a soldier in the army and she is an atheist so it really wasn’t that hard to explain on my request. Also if you want to expedite, USE the White House website first, then use your senators website." All in all, it worked, and she got her interview around 1 year after the NOA1. From what I understand it doesn't really make a difference messaging the White House as it said with the official expedite information on VJ to call or mail the CSC, right? Secondly, I'm not sure being an atheist would be a valid reason, to me it seems a bit irrelevant. Is that a thing? The fact that he was able to get the request approved gives me some hope, but am just unsure about how to go about it. Does anyway have any experience with this? If so is there a walkthrough anyone could provide for this? Thank you all for your time! P.S. For reference, I sent off the I-129F in July of this year.
  5. I am an I-130 petitioner, and it has been approximately two years since my initial filing date. The processing by USCIS experienced significant delays, further compounded by a Request for Evidence (RFE) which added to the timeline. Currently, my case is in the NVC stage, and I've observed that the NVC seems to be reviewing and Documentarily Qualifying (DQing) cases within a span of roughly two weeks. Given the extended duration my case has taken, is there an option to expedite the process? If so, could someone please guide me on the appropriate procedure?
  6. We have recently put in a request to expedite (via Senator, same route we expedited successfully through via USCIS) our NVC case 1 day after we submitted all documents and paid fees, in hopes to be DQ'd quicker and get interviewed quicker. One thing we're concerned about though is if by some chance that we get the interview scheduled prior to us being able to get the medical exam done, since that's required before the interview can take place. Is this situation common? Should we be worried? Appreciate your help.
  7. I want to ask if i decide to expedite my NVC case will that somehow affect in a negative way out case? We have provided more than once all required documents and keep getting rejected even though we went through the nvc website thoroughly, and provided everything required by the rules and regulations and information from the nvc website. So we are thinking to ask for expedition due to my wife is disabled and is going through a hardship with the childcare while her mom is at work all day. My stepsons have behavior and mental and physical health issues our oldest boy is Autistic and younger one is suffering with ADHD and expressing loads of bad behavior around his brother. My wife have a back issues which she needs to address but unfortunately the wait for her surgery is very long and currently there is over a 6 month wait for her even to see the doctor for consultation. Also she would need someone to look after the kids when she is recovering from her surgery. So my question (excuse the rambling) is if we decide to send a EXPEDITED request will that affect our case in negative way or not. Thank you for all your help
  8. I was married on a K1 visa but had to leave the US after the wedding in May 2022 due to my PhD program in the UK (again I want to thank all these people who helped me on VJ!). Currently, we are applying for the CR-1 visa and filed the I130 online in November 2022. I will be completing my PhD by the end of 2023 and have plans to pursue a NIH postdoctoral fellowship in the US. However, the fellowship requires a permanent residence status, which means I must obtain the visa by the end of 2023 or early 2024 to not lose this opportunity. Our service center for the visa is Vermont, and the average processing time is 14 months. Is it possible to get the visa before January 2024? If not, are there ways to expedite the process? I've read about "financial loss" as one of the possible reasons to make an expedite request, but not sure if I can make a strong case for it. Thank you for your help!
  9. Hello! I am a Fiancee of a male from the United States, and we've been dating for about 4 years now. Right now, we are preparing requirements for the petition for alien fiancee. I am wheelchair-bound and was born with a degenerative disease called muscular dystrophy (myotonic-congenital type), that causes me to progressively lose muscle mass and my locomotive abilities, and me and my fiance very much wants to be married in the US soon and spend the rest of my life by his side. So, we wonder if our case can be expedited with this reason. Here's a sidenote, I am from a middle-class family in the Philippines. Though we're not able to get the necessary treatments for my scoliosis and other certain health problems because of certain specialists uavailable in our province, we get by very well and my basic needs are sustained by my immediate family (like: foods, dental, doctor's appointment for minor sickness, education, clothes, etc.). I have documents as proof for my degenerative disease, and my fiance also just wants to provide me the quality life I need, treatments that are easily available in US, and just be able to prolong my life and time with him. Both of our families and friends are also very much willing to support us. Hope to hear you guys' input on this. It would really mean a lot! Thank you all in advance.

  11. After about a month following my expedite request and then filling an inquiry about the result, I just received this response... Basically not an approval nor a denial but a... Maybe lol. Just sharing in case someone else has either received or soon receives the same message. Very helpful indeed 🙄
  12. Hello everyone, I have 2 cases at NVC for my parents, I submitted all the required documents and paid the fees. 2 days after that I requested an expedite from NVC and provided the supporting documents. NVC responded that the expedite request has been approved as below. My question is that does this also expedite the processing at NVC (reviewing the affidavit of support + DS260) or just expedite the process at the embassy once they receive the case from NVC? Thank you
  13. Any comments about your expedite requests experiences appreciated here! I have submitted numerous expedite requests. About (6) so far. The last two have been send and responded with an answer on the same day. They have came back the same day advising they “sent my case to consulate” and my case cannot be expedited. Are these automated messages? How can they possibly send my case to consulate and determine it cannot be expedited on the same exact date I send the request?
  14. Hello, my husband recently got DQ’d for his CR1 visa. His embassy is Abu Dhabi. He also recently got a job offer for residency in the US as he is a doctor and he is due to start in July 2023. What is the procedure and is this job offer sufficient means to expedite his case? If any one has any insight on this expedite procedure please do share. Thank you in advance!
  15. Hi everyone, im 20yo son of LPR and i need help making a expedite request I have heart problems and my doctor recommended that I go to the United States as soon as possible because my country does not have enough doctors or equipment to diagnose me and the treatments in my country are very expensive. so you would be better off in the USA financially and health alike What documents should I present as evidence? And how to formulate my situation so that my petition is approved?
  16. Hello! I am a dual US/UK citizen by birth, wanting to move my UK citizen husband to the US. I have two questions. 1. I have received an offer of employment in the US which would require me to relocate in 12 weeks. We are almost ready to file our I-130 (see question 2), but would like to expedite this once submitted along with filing a CR1 with DFC in London. Does anybody have advice on how we could go about this? I have also seen different resources in different places, some saying that this is a legitimate reason to expedite a visa and some saying it is not. 2. My husband and I have a trip planned to the US in December for which he will need to get an ESTA. On the I-130 USCIS online form under Beneficiary's Immigration Information / Beneficiary Class of Admission, I have submitted the details for his last ESTA he obtained to visit the United States under class of admission B2 - Temporary Visit for Pleasure. Will this be a problem / will I need to update his application when he gets his ESTA for our trip in December? Many thanks, B
  17. Hi everyone, Here I am again hoping to get some wisdom from this amazing community! So, last week I requested to expedite my AOS (i485) through Emma and last Friday I got an email from USCIS asking to turn on the evidence. I saw a phone number and assumed I'd have to send a fax, so I started gathering the evidence and got everything ready on Tuesday. But when I looked up the email again, I realized they actually wrote that I was supposed to call that number and make an infopass appointment! They weren't giving me the option to send a FAX. So I called them today and after a 45 wait, I was able to talk to an agent, who was quite rude to me. She didn't know why I got that email, as they don't schedule appointments for certain things and that she couldn't do anything for me. I was like... What? She basically didn't do anything and did all she "politely" could to get rid of me and end the call. I mean... USCIS told me to call and make an appointment, it was not my idea lol So I called again, 50 more minutes on the phone before being able to speak to someone, and then finally reached another agent. That lady was surprised as well an said it was the first time she saw something like that! USCIS usually requests to turn in the evidence via FAX, not in person. She had to dig in few minutes before being able to understand how to put me in the queue for an appointment. But she eventually managed and now I'm expecting a call from them in the next 72h to book the infopass appointment. But now I am wondering... Should I be worried? Why would they wanna see me in person for that? Maybe something is wrong with my case? Or maybe, on the other hand, I'd get interviewed on the spot if they think that the evidence is satisfactory? (I've been waiting for my interview for Green Card for over two years now) Did anyone else had a similar experience? Thank you!
  18. Hello! This is my first post on the forum. Thanks for any guidance! I filed the i130 petition for my husband (Chile) in March 2022. We both live in Chile, but I have been offered a job in the US that is uniquely suited to my experience (hard to find a position like this), starting in November. Question 1: If I go ahead with our 4-year-old son to take the job in the US while my husband works in Chile and waits for his visa here, we will go into debt every month, as the new job will not pay very much. On the other hand, I don't want to lose this job opportunity. Could this grounds for expedite due to financial hardship? I have already prepared budget examples, have the job offer letter, and a letter from the employer explaining why they need my particular skills/experience. I figure it's worth a try! Question 2: I called USCIS about the expedite request, and they informed me that they cannot consider it right now because my mailing address on the i130 is my Chile address, not US-based. They informed me that I would need to change the address, and it can only be done via snail-mail to the Texas Service Center! Has anyone else changed their address and had any luck? Finally, could I work with our embassy in Chile in any way? I'm at the point where I'm just thinking about hiring a lawyer to handle the expedite request and the next steps. However, thought I'd reach out here first to see what you all thought!
  19. Hello, I had a NOA1 on 11/23/2021, and we filed for a K1 fiancé visa (i129f). I am an American citizen, and my fiancé lives in Iraq. My fiancé has complained of severe abdominal (pelvic) pain associated with several other symptoms. She had a check-up with a doctor a few days ago and is suspected of having an ovarian tumor. So cancer..... Iraq has crappy Medical facilities, and I'm sure if she gets treated in Iraq, they will kill her before cancer. I want to get her to me ASAP and at least get proper testing for her to see what's going on. I love her and can't imagine my life without her, I was just with her for a visit a week ago, and I'm now back to work. Is this grounds to expedite our case? Or do I have to quit work and spend time with her until our case is done? Please advise..... I can get a copy of the ultrasound and a medical report describing her situation. I can have them officially translated and do whatever else I need to do. I appreciate any help. Thank you all in advance.
  20. Case Expedited and visa approved during the interview but visa status says administrative processing. Please why does this happen? How long will it take for visa status to show issued?
  21. Hi All, I'd like to preface this message by asking that you all please be kind to me in your responses. I am currently 15 weeks pregnant, super fragile and suffering from several panic attacks right now, and just need empathy and support. While I appreciate honesty, I need empathy the most right now. I am the petitioner and my fiance is the beneficiary. Yesterday I contacted USCIS customer service and put in an expedite request for my fiance and my I129f form. My pregnancy was very much so unexpected (yes, I know what happens when you're not abstinent, but it still was unexpected). Like I said earlier in my message, I am suffering from several panic attacks to the point that I broke out in hives and had to go to urgent care at one point. I have a history of anxiety and depression and was on medication for years prior to my pregnancy. 6 months ago I was in a really good place mentally and emotionally and made the decision (with my doctor and therapist of course) to carefully ween off my medication. Well now that I am pregnant my anxiety and depression has come back full force! All my close friends have recently moved to distant cities or out of state to pursue wonderful careers. My family also lives in distant cities, and my parents are not able to assist as much as they'd like because they are currently taking care of my uncle who is receiving treatment for cancer. My OB, PCP and therapist are all concerned to the point that they went out of their way on their own to write a letter for me to send to USCIS urging that my fiance is here to support emotionally and mentally through this process as I don't have any one near by at the moment to help. They also don't feel it is a good idea for me to move to his country until the birth of the child because they need to keep me under their care at this time for my health and the health of our baby. I explained all of this to the representative over the phone yesterday and got the email today that my request is denied because it doesn't fall under any of the categories to submit an expedite request. I am so confused? They didn't even give me the chance to submit documents supporting my request! Now I have to wait an additional 5 business days to submit another request. Does anyone have some advice in regards to this? I am reaching out to a lawyer but wanted to reach out for support as well because these panic attacks are overwhelming and I am concerned about the health of my baby.
  22. Last month I had my senator request an expedited interview with the Dakar Embassy on behalf of my stepchildren due to displacement issues coming in Senegal. Our request was denied citing it would not be fair to other families waiting. I have contacted NVC to request an appeal of the expedite denial this week. My question is has anyone had any success appealing and denied expedite? If so were you given criteria of the Embassy for granting an expedited interview request?
