  1. I just did my cr1 visa interview today in Beirut lebanon and it went well the officer said that my visa is approved but then he remembered that there is one last thing to do before giving me the visa which is to process the DS-5535 which is a background check now i have heard that some people who were given this form waited for months on end and some heard 2 weeks later did anyone get this form and how long till you heard back from the embassy
  2. Hello guys, i would like to share my N400 Hoping someone can give me an advice. I submitted my n400 at the end of January 2020, biometrics in February, uscis closed because of the pandemic, September 2020 did my interview : Officer handed me a paper saying Recommended for approval , he told me I shall receive the oath letter within 3 weeks... months have passed , I tried calling , going to the Jacksonville office... and they always said to keep waiting... my case is outside the processing time , and I submitted an inquiry, the response was : USCIS has reviewed your Service Request. According to USCIS records, we are unable to move forward with your application until the required background checks have been completed. At this time, we are unable to determine when the adjudication of your case will be completed and no further action is required from you. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by delays in processing. I also contacted the Us representative and senator in January but haven’t heard any feedback yet.... yesterday I submitted an inquiry to CIS ombudsman. thank you in advance for your replies
  3. Hi Everyone, We filed I-130 and I-485 together for green card for Spouse of US citizen in Sept 2021. Biometrics were taken in Oct 2021. I-485 is moving forward with status showing "case is actively being reviewed" while I-130 is still pending on "Just Received". It has been now 8 months for I-130 not moving and we tried to enquire about that and we were told that it is still in "pre-processing/background check" and that cases in this phase cannot be expedited. 1- Is this usual 2- Is there something we can do about that? Thank you
  4. So a month ago I applied for a B2 visa to go on vacation to the states. The first time I applied with everything truthfully, stating that I have been arrested once before for petty theft, but I also mentioned I was unemployed(on the application form). I got the 214(b) refusal and said by the CO that I can apply again. The second time I applied again was a week later. With the same answers about my background and employment state. I mentioned to the OC when asked”what do you do for work?” I mentioned I work as a waitress but decided to take a break and go on vacation using my savings to pay for the 1 week trip. I got refused again with 214(b). So I would like to know was it mainly because I was unemployed or because of my small arrest ?
  5. Hello, I am new to this forum so I don't exactly know the correct way to go about explaining this. My fiance and I filed for a K-1 visa and received our NOA1 on September 14th, 2020 and have heard nothing back from USCIS. We have submitted two inquiries (one in May and one a week ago), reached out to my representative back in May as well as yesterday I reached out to one of my senators. The only information from USCIS was provided to my representative, stating that our case is currently pending security checks. I am wondering if these security checks have something to do with a fine I got a few years ago that I had forgotten to mention in the application which was for having a glass bottle on the beach? Is there any way to get the information to USCIS before potentially getting an RFE or are we just going to have to wait until we get a response from them (however long that may take). Should we expect to receive an RFE or just a late approval? Any and all advice/information is appreciated, thank you!
