Hi everyone! My husband is set to enter the US next week on his CR-1 visa. Will the government shut down affect him entering the US? I know CBP is essential and USCIS is funded by fees so they will still be working. But will they not properly process his visa entry at the airport due to the government shut down or deny him entry because of the shut down? Did anyone enter on a IR-1/CR-1 during the last shut down and can provide some insight? Thank you!

Hi. Sorry if this is on the wrong forum, I've searched and I couldn't seem to find any other topics relevant. I'm not quite moving to the US yet...me and my fiancé are currently in the process of the K1 visa. My last visit to the US was December 2022 before we filed. I am wanting to visit again for Christmas for about 6 weeks but I'm a very nervous flier and Immigration Officers terrify me. I came through Atlanta last time and I was through in about a minute, no questions asked...I got engaged during my visit and left when I was supposed to. I have found a flight from LHR to BNA, direct with British Airways. I was wondering if anybody has any experience with CBP there and if I should be worried about anything...especially being grilled. I landed in Nashville domestically last December so I didn't get to experience their POE. TSA was lovely though. I appreciate if any advice could be given on their experiences or if I should expect anything. Again, sorry if I put this on the wrong forum. Thanks!

Hi everyone. My husband is planning to land at San Francisco (SFO) airport as his port of entry on CR1/IR1 visa. I wanted to find out that how much time does it usually takes to get CBP/immigration clearance for the CR1/IR1 visa holder at the point of entry into US? Because he is planning to take the the flight from SFO to MSP which flies after 3 and half hours after his international flight lands at SFO airport. I wanted to ask that are 3.5 hours enough to get custom/immigration clearance from after the first flight to board the next domestic flight to MSP?

Hi guys, I've been following this site for quite a while now, but this is my first time posting here. I apologize in advance if I'm posting on the wrong topic. I had my interview at the Consulate in Rio on September 8th and entered the US on my CR1 visa on September 11 through Houston. At the POE the officer took me to secondary, where I waited for around 10 minutes when they handed me my passport back with the admission stamp. No questions asked or anything. My questions are: 1) Am I a permanent resident now or do I have to wait until I received the physical green card in the mail to be considered so? 2) Am I allowed to travel internationally with the endorsement on my IV CR1 visa? We booked a trip to Italy a few months ago when all of this was still up in the air, and now it's too late and expensive to cancel it. 3) I've read somewhere that CPB should have taken my fingerprints at POE, which of course didn't happen. Is that an actual rule? 4) Is there a way to check my SSN application status? I checked the box on my DS 260, but I've read stories here of people having to apply in person because the system didn't work. Sorry if those questions have been asked before. Thanks!
