Hey everyone, Feel free to move this to the appropriate forum if this is not the right place to post this question. Summary of the situation My mom had a 10-year ban because she overstayed her visa in the U.S. She served her 10-year ban and now was granted a B2 visa. She will be coming to visit me and my family in the U.S. (wife and I are LPRs, child is USC). My aunt was recently in the same situation and came to visit us. Her POE was Fort Lauderdale and she got the stinky eye by some immigration officers that didn't know what to do given her history. Ultimately they allowed her in and she came and visited us on a B2 visa. My concern is that my mom faces the same issues at the POE because she'll be entering the U.S. for the first time after the ban on a new B2 visa. Question Would a POE from a larger airport like Houston or Dallas be better than smaller airports POE because the officers would be more experienced in this type of situation? We're in Austin,TX and tickets are cheaper if she comes through Sao Paulo-Mexico City and then San Antonio. My concern is the POE at San Antonio airport. Would it be better to pay more and enter through POE in Houston or would she be ok even at a smaller airport POE such as SAT? Thanks all!

Hi everyone. My husband is planning to land at San Francisco (SFO) airport as his port of entry on CR1/IR1 visa. I wanted to find out that how much time does it usually takes to get CBP/immigration clearance for the CR1/IR1 visa holder at the point of entry into US? Because he is planning to take the the flight from SFO to MSP which flies after 3 and half hours after his international flight lands at SFO airport. I wanted to ask that are 3.5 hours enough to get custom/immigration clearance from after the first flight to board the next domestic flight to MSP?

Hi All I had TB and treated to cure many years ago. But have scars in lungs. I got my spouse visa after did Sputum Culture test and shown negative. But on the visa it has annotation "Class B (TB) Req. ATTN of USPHS at POE" Please guide me what should I do at the POE and how should I followup for this. Thank you.

Hello helpful Visa journey friends, Iam interested to know what experience you have had upon entry into the USA if you were initially a CR1 visa holder upon issuance but decided to wait to enter the USA past your two year wedding anniversary. Upon entering USA did you need to tell the immigration officer anything about the two year rule? Show your marriage license? Did you need to have this discussion about your new eligibility as a permanent resident vs conditional? Or was it automatically in the system? Did he comply or tell you he can’t help you? interested to know what your experiences were. Thank you!

Hi guys, I've been following this site for quite a while now, but this is my first time posting here. I apologize in advance if I'm posting on the wrong topic. I had my interview at the Consulate in Rio on September 8th and entered the US on my CR1 visa on September 11 through Houston. At the POE the officer took me to secondary, where I waited for around 10 minutes when they handed me my passport back with the admission stamp. No questions asked or anything. My questions are: 1) Am I a permanent resident now or do I have to wait until I received the physical green card in the mail to be considered so? 2) Am I allowed to travel internationally with the endorsement on my IV CR1 visa? We booked a trip to Italy a few months ago when all of this was still up in the air, and now it's too late and expensive to cancel it. 3) I've read somewhere that CPB should have taken my fingerprints at POE, which of course didn't happen. Is that an actual rule? 4) Is there a way to check my SSN application status? I checked the box on my DS 260, but I've read stories here of people having to apply in person because the system didn't work. Sorry if those questions have been asked before. Thanks!
