  1. Hello, We just received our NOA2 after 289 days, we are so happy. I have some questions though please. If anyone could help me out I would be so grateful. I know my fiancé the petitioner has to fill in the I-134, does he need to mail it to me after he fills it in or can he just scan it for me? Do I need the I-134 filled in in order for me to be able to go ahead and do the I-160 online? I booked my flight for February a while ago to go and see my fiancé in the US, if by some miracle the interview is done before then and I get the K-1 visa, can I not use it and use my ESTA as normal and then use the K-1 visa with the sealed envelope later within the 6 months time frame that I have for moving? there's no way I will be able to move by February unfortunately. If not, can I ask the Embassy not to schedule my interview before February? as the flights are non refundable. What are the original docs that my fiancé needs to give me for the interview? and which can be scans only? For the interview, do I need a copy of the I-129F form that we sent to USCIS, as unfortunately we forgot to make a copy of it before we mailed it out.
  2. Hello - my fiancé and I are planning for his visa interview scheduled for next month and want to ensure there are no issues about his being able to demonstrate sufficient financial support. We both live in the UK and have sufficient savings on our own in the UK but as we don’t have US source income/assets have also asked my dad to fill in an I-134. Should we each also fill one in (would there be any harm in having multiples?) or sufficient to just also have all of our financial info as support under the one I-134 from my dad?
  3. Hi guys, we recently got approved and are waiting for our interview date. We began looking at the required documentation for the interview and I was curious about a couple of things. First of all, I make well beyond the required amount to prove that I can support my beneficiary and have had full time work for the last 7+ years with the same company and live comfortably. That being said, my company was bought by a bigger company last year and the handlings of tax information between the two companies got mixed up. I basically was changed to an exempt filing without my knowledge for the last half of last year and due to this I owed a lot in taxes when I filed for 2022. I am on a payment plan as of now with the IRS and should have it paid off by the time our interview is. So my question is, when my fiance shows the interviewer my most recent tax transcript, will they be looking to see if I have back taxes that still need paying? or will they only be looking at my income from the transcript? Also, should I include some kind of receipt from the IRS that my tax debt is being paid off so I can prove that it won't be an issue? Sorry for the long post and thank you for anyone willing to answer
  4. Hello there we just got approved of our I-129f petition and now on the process of filling up form I-134. My fiancee is on a working visa in Thailand and we were wondering since she has a working visa and is employed do we have to show evidence of her working there such as pay stubs, bank account statements etc. As to my knowledge she doesn't have to provide evidence of her income because I will be supporting her when she gets here. In our initial petition we declared that she is working in Thailand. I'm just wondering what is the best thing to do and to prepare in this situation. Any help is greatly appreciated thank you.
  5. Hi All, I'm filling out the I-134 for the K! Visa's affidavit of support, and when it comes to the income section for the sponsor on page 6, #14 -- https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-134.pdf, I'm trying to figure out what the correct information is to put in. For example, I assume it's asking for my current income, but I'm not sure how to distinguish that from the money that I'd be giving to the beneficiary. For example, let's say my full income were $100,000. Would I say: Full Name (Sponsor) - Date of Birth - Self - $80,000. Full Name (Sponsor) - Date of Birth - Self - Income Contribution to Beneficiary - $20,000 then for total income, at the bottom, write $100,000? Thanks!
  6. I see websites (Boundless) say that the U.S. citizen sponsor must 100% meet the income requirements for a K-1 visa as a minimum, while it's 125% for the Form I-864 AOS. I am confused though because another website (VisaNation) says it should be 125%, and that the 100% only applies to active duty members of the Armed Forces. If ever the 125% does need to be met by a k1 visa sponsor, can the beneficiary combine her income (I work as a freelancer, and I earn around $1.8k a month) to her sponsor's? My sponsor at the moment can only meet around 105% of the HHS Poverty Guideline.
  7. Hi everyone! I’ve just received the NOA2. I’m a little confused about when to fill in the Affidavit of Support (I-134). Is it something that I just print, fill in and take with me to the interview? Thank you!!!
  8. I have a question and hope you could help me.. I know form 134 is not really requirement according to state department but the USA embassy in Egypt sent me list of things needed and the form was listed.. my cousin filled the form for me who's married but his wife don't want to be part of this and he didn't list her as dependent or use he income.. would that be a problem?
  9. Hi! For the new I-134 form, it asks to list Beneficiary Income and Assets. Question: Do I have to list this if I (petitioner) make the required income to support the beneficiary? My fiancé has a real estate holding that he makes passive income from, but isn't needed to help me support him. So is it relevant?? Screenshot for reference:
  10. I filed the I-134 petition on November, 29 and I have yet to get an approval for my Venezuelan beneficiary. A few weeks ago I sent USCIS a message directly from my account, and they said there is no current processing time and they couldn’t give me any case-specific information. Will I wait another week? A month? A year? Will I even get approved at all? Was my petition lost? Is anyone in the same situation? Can a lawyer do anything to speed up my process or help me to obtain any information about my case?
  11. Hello, I am working on filling out the I-134 affidavit of support for my fiance. I needed a co-sponsor so I am trying to collect everything I need for evidence. So far, I have one pay stub, 2021 tax return, and W2 form for 2021. Do I need anything else? The cosponsor's income is enough and I do not need to add assets. I read online somewhere that a letter from the bank is required to include information of how much was deposited within a year and what his current balance is, but he tried getting that and the Bank was not able to provide it, which is why we have monthly summaries of his deposits. I also read we need a letter from his employer, but the thing is he works in a corporate and has no contact with his employers or managers as they are always out of state. Do you guys thing what I have so far is sufficient?
  12. I'm currently filling out the online I-134 form and I am trying to provide evidence of my seasonal job that ended a few weeks ago. I have since filed for unemployment. This is what USCIS is requesting: Am I more likely to get rejected because of my job situation? How can I prove whether the position is temporary? Will pay stubs be sufficient enough? Last year's income and this year's income is well over the Federal Poverty Guideline for my household size.
  13. Hello! Just had a quick question regarding joint/co sponsors. My I-129f petition for a K-1 visa for my fiancee to come to the US has finally been approved after almost 16 months. We submitted it on July 6, 2021 and it was approved on October 19th, 2022. We're now waiting for the NVC letter. We were just wondering what form our joint/co sponsor would need to fill out? Would it be I-864 or I-134? I am currently unemployed so would I still need to fill out form I-134? It's my understanding that the co sponsor would fill out I-864 and I would still need to fill out I-134 but please correct me if I'm wrong. Really appreciate your help!
  14. Which form should be filed for K1 visa? I-134 or I-864?
  15. Hello All, My Fiancee and I finally got approved after 408 days(NOA1 - May 10th, 2021) and I have ran into a few questions while gather documents for the next steps: I-134 Affidavit of Support - Part 2, Questions 16 - Benficiary's length of stay For this question do I just provide a rough estimate for the 3 month window when my fiancée will arrive here? Supporting Documents for I-134, Employers statement I talked to my manager, and he referred me to HR. They then provided me a 3rd party website for retrieving this information. Will that suffice? I feel like the I-134 instructions specifically state that the statement must come directly from your employer on business stationery. Conflicting Visas: My Fiancée's sister is in the US on a J1 visa and transitioning to a student visa. Would this have any effect on our application? My Fiancée got worried saying she read on other forums that people were getting denied if they had siblings in the US on multiple visas. Thank you all in advance!
  16. Hello again! I have a question about the Assets sections of the I-134 Affidavit of Support. If I exceed the poverty guidelines, do I need to add anything here? I've seen others put their bank balances and their fiancé's bank balances in their respective sections, but is that necessary? Thanks in advance!
  17. Im a US citizen currently in 3rd year of medical school in Mexico where I met my partner. I live on student loans + financial support from my family and thats how my partner and I have been mostly living on for the past 1.5 years. She has a job here and her income helps but i'm aware that once the visa is approved she wont be able to work stateside for a long time. Will this present a problem at the stage of filling out the I-134 form as I don't have any income? Are we at risk of being denied a visa? Any info and suggestions are appreciated, thank you
