Our Story

  1. I am a swedish citizen and got a 221g for the k1 visa. Reason being i was born in Japan because my father was working there at the time and they are requesting an orginal Japanese birth certificate. I have no way of obtaining one and have called every embassy and tried but to no avail. If anyone can help me in this matter please contact me. I was born in Kitakyushu, 2003 and both my parents are swedish citizens. We do not have any copies of a japanese birth certificate and I did provide the american embassy with my swedish birth certificate (personbevis 120 alla relationer) but it wasn't enough.
  2. Hey everyone, I have a quick question. My Visa got approved and will be returned to me via courier (UPS) within the next 7-10 business days and I was wondering if you get like an email on when they will deliver it or if they just gonna show up at your door? With now just 2 weeks away from Christmas and 3 weeks away from moving I'm more out than I'm at home, trying to get everything done.
  3. hey everyone, I have my visa appoitment in about 2 weeks here in Germany, I was wondering if they will let you know right after the appoitment if you get approved or denied or if they let you wait till you get your papers back?
  4. I have my medical exam coming up at the end of the month, with my Visa interview coming up about 10 days after and the closer I get the more questions I have, which I think is normal But I'm pregnant and due to the pregnancy I couldn't get some vaccines done on time, could that be a problem? I read that they are recommended but not required am I right? By any chance somebody has expirence going through the whole process pregnant or with a pregnant partner? What things should I defiently remember when comes to both the medical exam and visa interview ? Appriciate any answer
  5. Hello everyone. I’m new here, and am about to start the K1 visa process. Do you have any recommendations for a good visa service? Thanks in advance.
  6. We filed for AOS for my husband on June 30th for his K1 visa. His EAD was approved on August 2nd and he received the card on August 12th. He received his 1st social security card on August 3rd with the "valid for work only with DHSauthorization." On September 13th, we got a notification there was a change in the status of his case and received a new social security card in the mail without restrictions. It is the exact same card number as the previous one. However, when we check the status of his case there is no change, it still says "case is being actively reviewed by USCIS." We have not received any written notification either. Has this ever happened to anybody?

  8. After the change of systems in July 2023. Mumbai embassy is not responding to inquiries within specified time and not sending packet 4 instructions even a month after the case has been Ready at ceac website.
  9. Hi All, Our NOA2 was approved on 07/20/2023. We are preparing the documents for the interview checklist for the US Embassy in Manila. I have gone through the checklist on the site and have a question on the requirement to provide Proof of Relationship. I assume this is for proof of ongoing relationship, since proof of having been met within 2 years was already submitted as part of I-129F and approval of I-129F means this requirement is met. For Proof of Ongoing Relationship, will we need to provide similar evidence as what we submitted for the I-129F? Some photos of us together since the I-129F petition (I have visited my fiancé twice since NOA1) and a notarize Affidavit of Intent to Marry? Or will some photos suffice? Thank You
  10. I got RFE they asking about restraining order on me. I have one permanent restraining order pictures attached is it dangerous? or it's ok? MY EX-MOTHER IN LAW FILLED AGAINST ME I'M TOO MUCH AFRAID FROM DENIED.
  11. I recieved my k1 Visa package today, it was wrapped in a grey plastic which had my passport and a large light brown envelope in it (on the envelop had the words do not bend written on it). I've been reading online and noted that most people says that they receive their passport with a white envelope (on the envelope is written do not open); however the package I recieved was nothing like that, my passport has the Visa stamp in it however the envelope does not have my name written on it nor does it have do not open. Is this common, has anyone recieved their package like this, I am a bit worried as my envelope does not have my name on it nor does it say do not open. I am currently living in the UK hoping to move to the states in a few weeks Thanks
  12. Hello, I have a quick question - my wife is filing for her AOS and we're a bit confused with the I-864 forms. I have been unemployed for a few years so we're getting my brother to sponsor her. Since I am the one who petioned and brought her here, I thought I still had to sponsor her and fill out I-864, and my brother would fill out I-864a as a household member. However in part 1, question #1 of I-864 it asks if "I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative" (1a) which I assumed was the correct box to check off, but I see there's an option to check "second of two joint sponsors" (1e). -Does anyone know which one would be the correct one? And if my brother would need to fill out I-864 or I-864a? I really appreciate your help in advance and good luck to everyone with their journey!
  13. i got NOA2 at MAR 15th and i send to mail at MAY 9 to NVC to want to know my NVC case nnumber and they replied at MAY 13th they said The National Visa Center (NVC) recently received your immigrant visa petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Your petition is now waiting for data entry into our systems. and i send mail again i got reply at MAY 18 they said The National Visa Center (NVC) is unable to assist you with your inquiry. Please redirect your inquiry to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).The National Visa Center (NVC) is unable to assist you with your inquiry. Please redirect your inquiry to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). is that returned to USCIS? im so confusing i cant understand whats going on
  14. Hi everyone, I just wanted to know if anyone had a k1 visa interview at the Senegal embassy? And if so, what kinda of questions did they ask during the interview? Thanks, your help is highly appreciated.
  15. I see websites (Boundless) say that the U.S. citizen sponsor must 100% meet the income requirements for a K-1 visa as a minimum, while it's 125% for the Form I-864 AOS. I am confused though because another website (VisaNation) says it should be 125%, and that the 100% only applies to active duty members of the Armed Forces. If ever the 125% does need to be met by a k1 visa sponsor, can the beneficiary combine her income (I work as a freelancer, and I earn around $1.8k a month) to her sponsor's? My sponsor at the moment can only meet around 105% of the HHS Poverty Guideline.
  16. Hi there, We recently got our NOA2 approval. When it comes to the NVC stage which document should I file for financial support? The form I-134 which is the declaration of support or the form I-864 which is the Affidavit of Support? I'm a little confused on this. Also, should I send the affidavit of support and my financial documents to the nvc?
  17. We are preparing all our documents for our interview in a few months time and wanted to see if anyone had Russian documents that needed an apostille? We have the original birth certificate and we got the Russian Police Clearance from the Gosuslugi system. We will get the Original Birth Certificate translated, the Police Clearance was already translated into English for us. I just need to know if the birth certificate needs to have an apostille? Thank you
  18. I am probably asking really stupid questions, but I want to make sure I do this properly so... HERE WE GO. 1. I'm filling for a fiancé visa, (K1). Question number 4 asks if I'm filing for fiancé or spouse. I chose fiancé. Question number 5 asks if I am filing for a spouse if I have filled out form I-130. Do I skip this question or type no? 2. My fiancé is from Argentina. He only has had one under the table job (which he quit a year ago because the man who hired him failed to train him some important things about the job and would abandon him and he'd be left alone to try and figure it out without training). He's been studying on and off trying to figure out what to do. I put that job down, but will not having a job cause problems? I know it's best to be honest on the visa.... 3. If no landline/daytime phone, use mobile phone in that place? Or just mobile phone number where it asks for mobile. 4. Part 4 (Other information about crimes). I have not committed any crime. So for P3 5.d I put "Not Applicable, beneficiary is my spouse or I am not a multiple filer?" Is this correct? 5. For questions about address, work, children, I put N/A for non-applicable on these extras (If I only have one)? or leave blank. I know there are things I put as non-applicable but I'm not sure WHAT specific things need or don't need. 6. For questions that say "If yes (on question above), please provide information..." If I select "No" do I write N/A or leave blank? Examples: IMB section, other information (about criminal record), If you have children, or your fiancé has children. 7. "If your fiancé is currently in the united states complete the following questions.." He is not, but should I still put his passport number and expiration or write N/A or leave blank? 8. Working dates. For my present LIVING LOCATION and JOB, you put the first one. They say to write MM/DD/YYYY. But if I'm working and or living there presently can I just write PRESENT? 9. Interpreter and Preparer sections: Leave blank, or write N/A? Sorry if these sound stupid. Paperwork stresses me out and I understand best when I talk to actual people than reading.
  19. Hello! My father offered to be my joint sponsor to bring my fiancé to the USA on a k1 visa. I'm a bit confused on how to fill out the I-134 form. I know I as the petitioner will fill one out and I know my father will fill out the same form as well. My question is my father is married and has been filing his taxes jointly with his wife. Would she also have to fill out an I-134 form? Or would it be another form? Or does her income not count? We'll also be living with my dad so it'll be a household of 4. Thanks in advance!
  20. Hello. My fiance from Colombia lived two years in Argentina when he was younger. We were able to pull the Police Clearance form from the Argentina embassy in Bogota. Does anyone have an example of the Argentina Police Clearance? I know it has to include art. 51 exception. But if anyone has an example of it, it would be very helpful. This is the one they gave us. It includes a fingerprint as well. Just want to make sure it's the right form. Thank you!
  21. Tried contacting uscis but to no avail so not sure if anyone has any information on this. we submitted our form back in 2022 and while it’s been received with the current wait times it won’t be processed until end of this year. My (fiancée) passport is expiring mid this year and I’d like to get a new one asap so I can travel if I need to but I’m not sure if that will impact our I-129F application as we have used my current passport number which will not be applicable at the end of the year when our form will be processed. Is it ok to update my passport without contacting USCIS and adjusting the form? Will it be declined? Is there any risks at all? Or is it okay to go ahead and renew the passport and just keep the old one for reference?
  22. Hello, I'm the petitioner for my Australian fiance and I have been living abroad with him since September 2022. I'm on a work and holiday visa which will expire September 1st of this year. I'm concerned with proving US domicile. I'm using my parents address as my US domicile. I've had mail and my taxes sent there for years. I have : •US health insurance •I will be renewing my NY ID •A US bank account that I've had for over 10 years •A US phone plan •I have filed US taxes every year •Visa papers proving my living abroad is temporary (because it's only a year visa) •Mail sent to this address •I have a US credit card I still use frequently •I also have a pet in the US I intend to return too but im not sure if this is proof or not? Does this seem like enough? I know I haven't been living abroad long but im still a little concerned because I don't have a car or anything. Thanks so much!
  23. We sent our I-129F via certified mail and we have confirmation that they received our application on the 27th of December. Today is the 4th of January and we still haven't got an e-mail receipt from them and the money has not been cashed yet. (We added the G-1145 and the G-1450 on the top of our packet). We also thoroughly checked the application before sending it to make sure that everything is correct. Is anybody else experiencing a similar delay??
  24. Hi everyone, We applied for a K1 visa and got NOA1 on 1/03/22. We put down the embassy location as Warsaw, Poland based on guidance for Russian applicants. With all the recent issues of Russians trying to enter Europe, we wanted to explore a different option. We both are residents of Turkey and we wanted to see if we can transfer our case to either the Istanbul or Ankara location. Our reasoning is that we are both residents and it would save us time and money (having to fly back to Russia, get a Schengen visa, go to a European country, and then go to Poland - where there is a lot of scrutiny to Russian passport holders.) My question is do I reach out the Turkish (Istanbul/Ankara) locations now or after NOA2 approval? I've heard conflicting information from many sources so I wanted to get someones input from here. Notes: I'm a US Citizen, my fiancee is Russian We both have been living together in Turkey since 2021 as Residents and we both hold valid resident permits We got NOA1 for our K1 visa application and listed Warsaw, Poland as our Embassy Location
  25. Hello everyone! I am completely new to this. I tried reading many forums as I could in regards to this subject, but noticed it's not the most talked about subject on here. When trying to look on USCIS' website, I felt I couldn't enough information as to how to write the letter or even a specific mailing address to send to withdraw my application. The thing is my fiancé and I plan to simply get married in Japan and skip the long processing times so that I can petition for a spouse visa instead. We thought it would be better dealing with it together rather than dealing with long distance :) But now I'm concerned if it would affect him in any way since I previously petitioned for a K1 visa? And I'm not sure if I even sent it the correct address?? Which is also frustrating us :( I had P.O BOX 30111 Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-0111 as the address on the Notice of Action I last received by mail. Would this have been correct? It's been 2 weeks since I sent it (priority mail, usps) and our case on the website is still the same. Should I be worried? Any help will be greatly appreciated! :)
