  1. Our i751 extension letter expired last year, and we followed steps to get infopass appointment and were able to get an infopass stamp last year before our travel in 2021. Now the infopass stamp expires in november and we have traveling scheduled from october to december, our return is after our stamp expires. So we called USCIS to get infopass appointment beginning of September and were told to wait for 30 days as usual, now instead of callback we get an email saying: We are contacting you about your pending request to be scheduled for an in-person appointment at a USCIS field office. Unfortunately, there are no available appointments with the field office that you need to visit. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Please note that we process all requests for appointments in the order in which they were received. We ask that you wait for the Contact Center to reach out rather than calling back to check on your request as it may result in longer wait times. As soon as an appointment becomes available, we will: Send you an email with the date and time if it is determined you are eligible for an appointment; OR Contact you by phone or email to confirm that the appointment is still needed, and if so, schedule as appropriate. Not sure what do we do now, how can we get an appointment before our travel? Has anyone else gotten this email before and what happened after it?
  2. Hi everyone, Here I am again hoping to get some wisdom from this amazing community! So, last week I requested to expedite my AOS (i485) through Emma and last Friday I got an email from USCIS asking to turn on the evidence. I saw a phone number and assumed I'd have to send a fax, so I started gathering the evidence and got everything ready on Tuesday. But when I looked up the email again, I realized they actually wrote that I was supposed to call that number and make an infopass appointment! They weren't giving me the option to send a FAX. So I called them today and after a 45 wait, I was able to talk to an agent, who was quite rude to me. She didn't know why I got that email, as they don't schedule appointments for certain things and that she couldn't do anything for me. I was like... What? She basically didn't do anything and did all she "politely" could to get rid of me and end the call. I mean... USCIS told me to call and make an appointment, it was not my idea lol So I called again, 50 more minutes on the phone before being able to speak to someone, and then finally reached another agent. That lady was surprised as well an said it was the first time she saw something like that! USCIS usually requests to turn in the evidence via FAX, not in person. She had to dig in few minutes before being able to understand how to put me in the queue for an appointment. But she eventually managed and now I'm expecting a call from them in the next 72h to book the infopass appointment. But now I am wondering... Should I be worried? Why would they wanna see me in person for that? Maybe something is wrong with my case? Or maybe, on the other hand, I'd get interviewed on the spot if they think that the evidence is satisfactory? (I've been waiting for my interview for Green Card for over two years now) Did anyone else had a similar experience? Thank you!
  3. Hi all, we filed for ROC in July 2020 and the extension letter expired as of sept 1,2022. We called to get an appointment for the 551 stamp and received an email a few days ago saying there are no appointments in the nearby field offices. How long does it typically take for an appointment? We live in the Bay Area and are willing to travel to anywhere to get the stamp as we need to travel in December. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  4. Hello, I had a combo interview a few days ago (November 2, 2021), I passed and my case was recommended for approval. During my interview I was a little confused about the name change option, I asked if I could add a middle name, but I was never informed that my oath ceremony may take months to be scheduled. I regret it, I realized that it will be very inconvenient to change all my documents and I want my process to be done as soon as possible. Is there anything I can do to withdraw this name change request? I sent a letter to the immigration officer who interviewed me and I also requested an infopass appointment, so far I didn't hear anything. My case status is still showing "interview scheduled". Does anybody have been in a similar situation? I appreciate any help. Thank you.
  5. I realize that new oath ceremonies are now not inside the USCIS building anymore (101 W Ida B. Wells Dr.), but rather I've seen some posts that says it will be on 219 S. Dearborn. Has anyone had their oath ceremony there, recently? If so I have three additional questions: 1. Are you able to make InfoPass appointment there, after the ceremony? 2. Is it outdoor or indoor? 3. Can I bring family to the ceremony? Or at least my spouse?
