Processing Center

How do you know which processing center your petition is going to after you mail it in to the Dallas PO Box?

Is it based on region? For example, I live in North Carolina and if Vermont is the only Service Center on the East Coast, is that where our petition would be sent?

Thanks!!!

Jamaican fiance denied!!

I was assuming my fiancé would be granted a tourist visa.. Since he's already been to the us to attend college. ( he's Jamaican) He was denied today because his ties weren't strong enough to his country. Hes been at his job for ten years. . has two children and returned after college. My question now is should I marry him in Jamaica and apply for the spousal visa? I heard the fiancé visa is a long process. I'm new to this all.

Desperately need help! Montreal interview

I have a long story but will spare details unless you need them. My husbands interview is May 30th. Stepsons case is currently being reviewed at NVC to expedite it to Montreal in time for husbands interview. My husband has had his medical done but stepson has not because we do not have a letter saying he can yet.

My question.....what will likely happen if case is expedited and sent straight to Montreal consulate and there is no time for stepsons medical? Will they be turned away at door or will they go through the whole process and get put in AP until stepsons medical is done and turned in? I am beyond stressed!! *sighs*

Withdrawn I-130: was I out of status and therefore barred?

Many years ago, back in 2003, I married a US citizen. We separated in January 2005 and the I-130 was withdrawn. Shortly after having received the denial of the I-130/I-485 application, I returned to Europe.

My question is: as I left voluntarily 2-3 months after the I-130/I-485 was denied, would have this incurred a travel ban? Was I out of status from date of initial entry on a B2 visa (July 2003) or from the date of denial for the I-130/I-485? Of course the case automatically went to deportation court but at which point I was gone.

It was a long time ago and if a 3 year ban was issued then no problems but if it is a 10 year one... Please advise!
US citizenship elligibilty

Hi,

A friend of mine wants to move to the states next year and live with me (I already have american citizenship). We are both Irish and living in Ireland at the moment.

She has just told me that her grandfather was born in Pittsburgh PA but moved to Ireland when he was 3 years old. He had an Irish passport but it says born in the USA on it. His daughter (my friend's mother), never claimed american citizenship? Can she now reclaim it after all these years and if so will her daughter (my friend) be able to as well?

Thanks, Em.

Can I do my interview in Toronto?

Hi Everyone,

I tried to do a search on this but everything i can find is over 5 years old now. Things change, you know?

I live about 45 minutes away from Toronto. According to a lot of these old posts I'm reading the Toronto consulate does not handle K1 Visas meaning I'd have to travel to Montreal which is about 6 hours away.

However, on the Toronto Consulate's website there is a contact option for K1 Visas. I'm wondering if they do handle this now or if I should start budgeting for a mini-vacation to Montreal?

Any help would be appreciated

I don't want it to show like I was out of a job for 10 months and i'm not sure how to mention I was in college (that i am still atenting, to this way- will finish this summer)

Any help will be very much apreciated.
