Guys, would appreciate your help, parents got called in for interview on Jan 10 2023 for i485 interview.. interview seemed to go well.. IO stated that everything looks good, came back home.. next day i130 was approved. 2 days later rfe was sent to father that his fingerprints are not good enough and to get police reports from where has been residing for last 5 yrs. I submitted that on Jan 19 2023 and there still is no update. My mother had no rfe but there is no update on i485 and her i130 was approved also on Jan 10 2023. I have been waiting a long time, and parents need to travel back home. I didn’t hire lawyer but I’m thinking of hiring.. could anyone advice on how to get info on case or should I get a lawyer. Also is this regular timeframe. A lot of people who had applied after me have been approved. Getting very frustrated with this situation. i130 and 1485 concurrent filing jan 14 2022. i130 approved Jan 10 2023 i485 pending i131 still pending also

So I got a RFE for my father stating that the fingerprints couldn’t be distinguished and used for him so I have to get police reports for towns cities where he has lived for than 6 months. Would you know the process for this as I’ve never been to a police station and does this include his stay in the USA. He’s been here for 1.5 yrs now.

Well that would be odd. I130 says it has been approved. I485 says interview scheduled even though they had the interview. the case officer literally said I am approving case as I don’t need more documents.

I filed i485 with i130. parents went to the interview with me. I130 was approved online yesterday but no update on i485.

So the PD date is by country or is it the same for everyone

Yes I meant the processing time.. now I understand that the PD is what matters.. so the PD will have to get Jan 2023 and then she can have her interview and in the mean time the i-130 will be approved

Yes seems like that’s about 8 yrs.. I don’t know why the processing times on uscis website has it as 5 yrs

It takes 8 years for interview ? Permanent resident sponsoring unmarried child over 21 I thought was like 4-5 yrs?

Does anyone know the process for permanent resident applying for unmarried daughter 23 yr old? She’s currently on F-1 in the USA studying.

Hello Guys, had my parents interviews. Went pretty smooth, She said she will have decision for us soon and literally congratulated us. I came home and the I-130 was approved online for the parents but i485 is still pending. Does anyone know why or what the process is ?
